Forums - Nintendo - Suda 51 still without a Wii U dev kit

Grasshopper is a dev team, not a publisher right?
Ubisoft published NMH1... so in order to begin a game they have to be assigned one by a publisher.

This is not as bad as it sounds. Consider Suda51 a free agent right now. If he wants to make a game, he'll reach out to a pub willing to publish his game and get the dev kit. Nintendo doesn't just give em to every dev team alive.

Well, despite no love it seems from the posts above, I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of Killer7 for Wii U

That would be awesome. While the game had its flaws and everything, I actually loved the game too much. The screen would probably help to track deathsmiles, change your personality without accessing any menus, checking your blood level... Yes Suda, nintendo anyone make it happen!

OT: Nintendo send him a dev kit asap, I need my NMH3 fix as quick as possible!

NMH has to be stopped after the first one. SPOILER ALERT

I was sad in the second one that other characters were stealing opponents, the game will skip some for WTF moments and they even degrade the exploring.

If you are a japanese company i expect a japanese game, sorry Suda.

I only played parts of the second one, had some good ideas in it even if the execution felt unpolished at times. I actually enjoyed the 8 bit parts but the game felt lacking in interactivity...
I would still like to see what Grasshopper can do with a motion plus!

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

not really much of a loss really. nmh was pretty bad, imo, and regardless of what anyone on this site feels the cold hard facts is his games don't sell.

NMH1 sold very well for them. They're games have to be making some decent money if they're continuing to make games and get different publishers. Maybe not all, but they're a low budget group anyway.

i have no doubt that his games make some money for him.  i guess what i was saying is if suda never made for the wii U it won't impact nintendo's fortunes at all so him not having a dev kit is pretty much a "meh" at worst when this article is spinning it as bad news.

Can't say I'm bothered, never heard of the guy before...

Who needs his lame games anyways?

Suda is a hero damnit!!
I need NMH3 as soon as possible!

And this is what Suda51 himself said in the interview:

Have you got hold of a Wii U development kit yet?

Not right now, no.

Is that something you are looking to get ahold of?

It’s hard to say. Maybe, maybe not. It’s really depending on publishers. We are developers, so it’s up to a publisher.

I think a lot of people are missing that point. Insteady, they see Suda51 does not have a DevKit and think Nintendo is all fouled up.

Maybe Nintendo should have different rules. Or maybe Nintendo should make an exception. That I could understand. But thikning Nintendo is not providing a DevKit just because it (as some reports have implied/suggested) is not the case here at all.
