I am sticking to my overly optimistic prediction. I will also implore you all to give this game a chance. It is extrordinarily huge. Last night I ventured into the Ether Mines, and MAN, is the central part of that place grand, 5 stories deep, and you can see all the way down the mining spire, the view is so grand. The scale of this game is ridiculous, its just sooooo big.

My advice would be to stop. You're only 10-15% in. If you think this is good, then Valak, Satorl, Eryth, Fallen, Makna and more will probably kill you with their awesomeness!
And that's not including the cool extra characters, or the Colony 6 rebuild, or the story improving dramatically...

Tonight my game time will be way down, so I might not have a chance to beat Xord. I totally did not upgrade my equipment, or even strategize the battle so I got crushed when I got to him at 2AM this morning. Figured I would just pick it up tonight. Unfortunately for my Xenoblade addiction, the Flyers start their playoff battle against the hated Penguins tonight, so my attention will be split. And immediately following the Flyers, South Park. So I may or may not get past Xord tonight. I am definitely leveled enough, but I totally went into the fight blind, and strategy-less. Really screwed up by not engaging his minions and building my Chain up. SOOOOOOOOO excited.
I'll be happy with 100k. Though I'm hoping it will do a lot better than that.
IMO VGC is overestimating it by a LOT. I know that it has gotten good word of mouth and critical reception, but firs month Im expecting it to have around 100-120k reported by NPD. I wish it would do better, but the fact that its GS exclusive and its not and easy to sell genre ( or an established IP), I wouldent bet my head on it. Now if it does anywhere above 200k, then its a massive success in my eyes :D

I would say 200k first week in the good ole' USA.
I'd say 95,000 as I've learnt not to trust the pre-order numbers.
