Not for a dedicated console. Its just fine.
Current consoles put out tremendous games with 256MB or ram.

I wonder..
It´s interesting, of all the components, it seems the ram is always the one that disappoints a lot of developers the most.
The current standard on consoles is 720p/30fps/small level. The next-gen should run smoothly at 1080p/60fps/bigger levels but I'm afraid that it will cost too much...

That's because devs are lazy and don't want to refine their code if they are not forced too. Think about it, PCs need more memory because they have to be able to be running TONS of other stuff in the background. Whereas game console shut down everything else for the most part. 1 to 2GB is more than sufficient.
what does it take to show games like Uncharted 3 or Gears 3 on a better resolution and textures/shaders..? That's all to be expected now.

Yes and that's what I'm saying is solid for a dedicated console. They'll likely have 512Mb to 2GB of DRAM for other items. So far not many rumors on that though.
I wonder if the next one will be "PS4 stronger than XBOX 720!" and then, "PS4 just as strong as the Wii U!" then, "PS4 as strong as PSP... :'(" then back to, "PS4 SUPER Strong!"
I wonder if that'll happen to it...
