Forums - Gaming - Is this the end of Ninja Gaiden? Can the Wii U save it?

Tagged games:

I think they should consider delaying the Wii U version into next year. Take some time to really polish the game, odds are in the launch window it's just going to get lost amongst bigger releases anyway.

Tecmo seems very close to Nintendo these days, maybe Nintendo can advise them on how to make the game better, because it seems like Nintendo pretty good at getting even so-so developers (Next Level Games) to deliver very good products.

Same thing with Retro Studios ... despite tons of staff turnaround, they still delivered a great DKC game following up the Metroid Prime games.

Ninja gaiden 3 is very enjoyable, and the ninja trials are fantastic.

Well I said it before, sell the damn IP, or rather what's left from it, to Itagaki and he might be able to fix the series. NG3 is just garbage.

I think having the question is this series dead blah blah blah is kinda rushing to the conclusion, based on some evidence. It is what it is. Yes, it's in a bad situation, But if they made a ninja gaiden that was great. The people that liked it might be more excited because of the years between a release that they wanted. Or maybe not. No one knows, and this applies to everygame.

Ninja Gaiden was Dead for years. Until the xbox version.

Ninja Gaiden (2004) - one of the greatest games of all time. Black and Sigma only made it more awesome

Ninja Gaiden II - a very disappointing sequel.

Ninja Gaiden III - I haven't played it, and I don't think I ever will.

What happened to part 2 that made it horrible?

part 2 is a pretty good game especially on ps3 due to coop. single player is also good to play

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

so then you would not or did not agree with the reviews of the game?

No not at all. Its not as good as the peak of the series (NGS2), and there are some questionable design choices but its still a good game and a great action game.

So basically this is the Metroid: Other M of the Gaiden Franchise.

I wouldn't go that far, its ninja gaiden but a a little stale. (Though the free updates are making up for that with new weapons), And again, the single player is mediocre but the ninja trials are sweet.

I am sure they'll try to continue the series but they definitely have to fix a lot of things in order for it to continue to make profits.

If they want the franchise to continue on, get rid of the pretentious, over the top crap that is the modern series and turn it back into an ass-kicking 2D side-scroller.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

It worked with Castlevania, Mario, Donkey Kong and ...Well just know that it could work. Not sure if they have the balls to go that route though.

They could easily go the retro-modern route by making an XBLA / PSN title like many companies have successfully done with their classic franchises like Mega Man and Sonic.  It'd be a helluvalot cheaper too.
