Forums - Nintendo - Official Xenoblade thread- Opinions, thoughts and questions inside! Can it hit 1mil in sales next year? Sequel coming for Wii U???

What is the best 'major' area in the game?

Colony 9 39 12.34%

Bionis' Leg 83 26.27%

The Marsh 20 6.33%

The Forest 17 5.38%

The Sea 24 7.59%

The Mountain 13 4.11%

The Valley 5 1.58%

Fallen Arm 22 6.96%

The Field of Metal 9 2.85%

See results! 73 23.10%

Total:305

Diablo 3 has significantly slowed my progress, but I finally got to a point in Sword Valley where I dont feel completely overmatched. Also, does Riki have some latent "MASSIVE DAMAGE Low Life" Ability? Because yesterday I was up against one of those "Fortress" baddies and was having my ass handed to me. Had a chain attack ready to deploy and then Shulk and Melia got devestated, leaving only the heropon by himself with under 1000 hp left. As I was readying myself to start from the last landmark, Riki did his Herotime thing, but this time attacked for upwards of 50k damage. This is WELL over the ordinary amount of damage that I am able to do. The fortressy deal crumpled to the ground and I was awarded massive amounts of experience, etc. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm there too Kenology, but in the NewGame+.

Never saw the appeal of NG+. How is it?

No need to grind affinity between characters, which is good, but about zero challenge, which is bad.

I just entered the High Entia Tomb. I reckon I have a fair bit of game left to play given that the story seems to really be going in another direction... am I right?

That's 35-40% playthrough, depending on your quest count. I believe halfway is entering the second area off Makna at level 46ish (you should be at 39-41ish at your point). But yes, the story really kicks off in an area not far away. You'll likely have seen it in the big area you're in ;) I'd think about Colony 6. You should be able to get everything Lv. 3 at this point or very soon, so move people in if you haven't!

Ok.  I'm 59:09 in.  I've done about 95% of all the subquests I currently have in my log.  I only just entered Valak Mountain and have yet to explore it as I decided to go do a fair bit of side-questing to raise affinity in several areas.  I have 3 star affinity in Colony 9 and Central Bionis.  Have 2 star affinity in Colony 6 (almost have everything up to level 3) and Upper Bionis.  I'm level 49 (Shulk) and everyone else is at level 48.

So glad to hear I have a lot of game left!  This is the only game I've been interested in playing so I'm trying to milk everything out of it.

Thats a good pace! And Valak is probably one of, if not the, best area for exploring. So many hidden areas beind mountain ranges, and one or two which involve a lot of cunning and...aerial skill.

Have you moved everyone to Colony 6, and upgraded as far as you can? If so, you should have Reyn's 4th skill tree, and Melia's (in Eryth Sea) and Shulk's you get when Colony 9 reaches 4* and Jackson's quest chain is complete. Heck, all characters (bar the last) can get their 4th skill tree from now. The 3 I've mentioned, and Sharla in Frontier Village, Riki in Frontier Village also, and Dunban in the area you are now. Any details, I'll provide.

Finally, all those sidequests and not overlevelled? I was 51 at your point! Maybe you haven't done as many as you think, as 5 more open up when you've done one!

It's terribly boring. I know, because I went for 999 affinity coins. The first NG+ run is motivating, because you try to see how fast you can get through the game while still slaying 149 out of the 157 unique monsters. On the next run you can try to beat that time, but afterwards it's a real pain.

This also reminds me that I still have to get that final achievement.

Yeah, that's what I thought, which I why I never went through with it. Admittadly, it'd be nice to get Fiora up to 99 before she dies, and to go about the game with a glowing Monado just destroying everything, but I think I'll pass!

Colony 9 Fiora and tuned Fiora are two different characters in some regards. They share the skill trees and tech points, but their character level and abilities are independent. So on a NG+ C9 Fiora joins you with the same level she died. The enemies in the C9 area allow you to level up C9 Fiora to about level 75 before the EXP values drop to rock bottom. Thus grinding C9 Fiora to level 99 would take hundreds, if not thousands, of hours.

Yeah, I guessed that when I did NG+ and she was Lv. 13 ;) Does she actually gain 16 Arts, then, if you level her up enough? That'd be cool, but I doubt it :/ In addition, for anyone who is considering getting the game, go for it! It's very unique, and the longer you wait, the harder it'll be to find...

No, Fiora gains no more arts outside of the four arts you learned on your firstplaythrough.
