You'll be spending far longer here than in any other area, so I guess the scenery just grows on you. Looking from Alcamoth over it is particularly potent though.

That's the idea really. It's supposed to be an advanced civilisation in an imperial setting. It's different, but it certainly livens up later. You'll grow to love it.

I took some time off from ZombiU earlier to play some Xenoblade...
My copy of Xenoblade was in a different state for the last three months...
It was good to put some time into it again...
I'm currently going through the New Game Plus, trying to complete every quest, or at least as many is I can...
Xenoblade may just be my all-time favorite game...

I'm about 15 hours in and I'm loving the hell out of it. Might be the most complex battle system I've ever played, surpassing Baten Katos Origins (also developed by Monolithsoft).
