Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which console will win next gen, Xbox 720 or PS4?

Which console will win ?

Xbox 720 109 18.76%

PS4 353 60.76%

it'll be a tie 29 4.99%

See results 90 15.49%

Total:581

If Ps4 launches first it will win, Japan wont even look twice at the 360 if the ps4 launches before it. America will be hard and Ps4 will probably loss it again but not by as much, and Ps4 will take EU.

Ps4 ahead by 5m.

Even though those games are simple, they still run on the Cell.  If you managed to make a pure emulator that could run those games then the same emulator could run disc games.

The advantage of these games being simple is Sony can do a hybrid of emulating/porting to get them to work. This is how all the PS2 games on PSN were done.

Yes, and you also need enough power to be able to properly emulate.

However, back to my point in which you nitpicked over the redundancy of me distinguishing PSN games from PS3 games, along with no DS3 support, that's still three features that the WiiU allows (transfers, predecessor's library, Wiimote support) that the PS4 does not, regardless of the fact that yes, they all fall under BC.

Short answer:  I was calling out the guy I quoted, not disparaging the PS4.

Yeah I'm just a liitle annoyed that people think psn bc is different than ps3 bc.

Also the Wii U has a second screen. That's another thing the PS4 doesn't do. (See I'm helping you now lol)

I LOVE THE FACT THAT WiiU is not even an option!!!!

LOL.

It's 71/2th Gen.

Who cares what they look like?

Only thing that matters is what they can do.

And as the PS3 once said, PS4 only does EVERYTHING.

Except for backwards compatibility for games, controller use, and no data or PSN game transfers...

WiiU does, though.

Yeah, that's what no BC means...

Anyway I think bumping this thread was premature.

... which is why I mentioned them.

Archbrix I realise what you are saying. People go emo when you tell them the truth.

I dont really care about PS4 or 720......I want Steambox. We already know how good Steam is already.

*Another stupid thread regardless. We don't know their launch titles, support (we only know a few), or even how the console looks like at least.

*I actually will go far to say that Steambox will win agaisnt them in the end. Yes IT WILL TAKE TIME but in the long run its going to be an awesome train ride. With the rumor of having 3 sku's of GOOD, BETTER & BEST its a decent start. I have trust in Newell.

Ouya will win

The OUYA will fall on its ass, mark my words. Its attempting to wedge itself between markets that are already crossover markets, there is no room for it on the market. Its the hardware idea of smartphones (update every year) with a fraction of the connectivity and multimedia and the hardware will even be weaker than a phone or a tablet, the need to buy a new one every year to keep up with the games will make the low cost of 100$ per unit seem high since you'll need to purchase five to six units in the span of one console lifecycle. The vast majority of developers have their eyes set on traditional games, Freemium or simply phone/tablet contents and apps, there is no space for this thing to occupy.

OUYA will be a terrible flop. I could be wrong and will gladly admit so but find it extremely unlikely, there is no motion in the market to tell that this is a good idea that will lift properly off the ground, time will tell though, so stay tuned!

we'll both stay tuned lol. Ouya is the perfect brigde within a gen. for a late adopter like myself. Ouya can rlease every yr., but i won't purchasing it which is the reason i'm likely to buy next yr.'s model. the graphic's look good so far from what i've seen.

graphic's don't need to be next gen. Wii will work just fine, and that's the impression i'm getting from what i've seen so far.

My prediction is that one of two events will occur. Either sales will be equally spread across all three consoles, giving rise to no statistical winner or sales will largely be evenly divided between Sony and Microsoft, resulting in Sony and Microsoft in a statistical tie.

At this point in time I don't see how there is or could be a single device maker who prevails above all others.

(between these two only...)
Similar pricing, similar tech, similar games....

PS4 by a landslide.

PS3 would have beaten 360 already had it not started at a $200 premium.

In US, Xbox will dominate and continue to do very well because most will want to keep Live.

In every other area of the world, PlayStation will dominate. The only way Sony will be able to regain dominate position in US is to launch first, cheaper, with crazy game collection including free shit from PSN+.
