Forums - Gaming - It is clear, the PS3 is the Definitive Console of Choice for Multiplatform Games

PS3 is the clear choice because it gets more games on Blu-Ray than 360 does.

Suck on that, M$ fanboys!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

THEY ALL PERFORM/ARE ALMOST SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER ON PLAYSTATION 3 IN VISUALS

Here's my experience: when companies point out they have made the exact same thing for both consoles, it's usually true.

It's just that when it comes to shooters with Unreal engine -surprsingly enough- they work more on the development for the 360 because there's a bigger market for that genre, simple as that.

Multiplatform comparison didn't mean much a generation ago even though the Xbox was clearly more powerful since it was anyway too far back in the race. It has been made a HUGE deal now by loads of gaming media & reviewers alike since the Xbox is at a title "variety" disadvantage (which is a euphemism for less exclusives) and they want to balance it out with a supposed "multiplatform"advantage.

i dont think so http://misterslimm.wordpress.com/360-vs-ps3/xbox-360-vs-ps3-head-to-head-face-off-results/

You're right, hundreds of multiplatform games, and he gives 3 examples, one of which is most likely a port from PS3 to 360(FFXIII/2). Ever so solid. It's totally definitive.

Hundreds ?! Actually the PS3 is far more entitled at using the the "port" card and you could call FF XIII a port the first time and not this one.

The point is, how much do you see games like Bulletstorm and Mass Effect gloriously and painfully repeatedly paraded in multiplat reviews and how much did you see FF XIII-2, which if we could give it praise as a game is that it's definitely a looker.

Go to head 2 head. Xbox won 80% of comparisons.

Edit: This was a stupid comment. Move along...

Yay!!!

Alright, let's take it from here then.

How much of a ground breaking 360 success story has the gaming media made out of comparisons of games like Mass Effect and Bullet Storm compared to those of FF XIII-2 and Ninja Gaiden 3 for example ? You may not like them but they are lookers nontheless.

How many 360 ports does the PS3 have which it handles pretty well even though they barely take advantage of the Cell's power ?

80 % of the comparisons ?! I'm checking out a link posted above which gives Rage the advantage to the 360. The one game that is absolutely identical on both machines, that alone goes to say how objective the comparisons are.

Im not saying that the 360 doesn't benefit from minor advantages here and there when it comes to Unreal Engine shooters for the most part, nor do i share the thread starter's kinda radical view.

I am saying though that a huge part of the gaming media is taking minor -expected- advantages puts them on a pedestal and parades them in a pathetically desperate attempt to balance 360's lack of titles. When they fuck up on the PS3, they fuck up big like Skyrim and Bayonetta. But whenever there is an advantage on the 360 it's so tragically disproportionate the fuss the media and reviewers try to make to the actual advantage itself.
