Tonight I re watched Superbad. Great film IMO. Also some great news. Whilst I was searching throuh my DVD's I was happy to discover that I do own a copy of Army of Darkness. Happy days. Gonna watch that tomorrow.

I can always re-watch Superbad. It is just one of those movies. Like Employee of the month for me. Can watch it over and over again.

Trastu, nocktu, necktie! I do not know the words and neither did he! :) You should watch the trilogy tonight!

Just went to see Spiderman again. Realized that I did not see the first 25 minutes. Must have been late to it last time. ENjoyed it a  Hell of a alot more this time. Also saw a sneak peak of Red Dawn. That movie is looking really good as well!

Not looking forward to yet another remake of a classic film. I loved the original film. I get the feeling the remake should be called homefront. The only remake I can stand right now is Dredd. Thats cuz the first film was shite at best.

I just watched the Hunger games on blu-ray. It was ok, I kinda expected more after all the hype around the theatrical release. It skipped over a lot of back story (Why are they hungry if they live next to a lush forested area? And what is all this district stuff anyway) and dragged in other places. The surround sound design was the best part of the movie, the hallucination scene and ear ringing effect especially stood out.
The visuals could have been better, the shaky camera work and low contrast scenes did not do the artwork justice.

I watched it again last weekend at the dollar cinema. Thought it was just as good as the first time. Some movies are meant to have been seen on the big screen so maybe that was the actual problem that you had.

Tonight in a half an hour I was thinking about watching Spiderman again at the dollar theaters. Just hit them today. Not sure if it was worth it though. It is only a dollar. I am struggling between that and doctor who or Timeline with Paul Walker.

I finally found out who River Song is! Very thrilling moment!

I watched it on a 92" screen, probably with a better field of view and sound then in any cinema near me. It was not the sound and visuals that were the problem (apart from the overuse of shaky camera) but the gaps in the story. I haven't read the story but still felt it made several weird jumps and glossed over a lot of character background. It didn't make me care about all the other characters except the main one. And what are they fighting in anyway? A holodeck or a studio like in the Truman show? Seems the latter but it also seems they're teleporting in these warhounds in the end.

Anyway the hunger games is still better then the next two movies I watched.
Knowing: Beautifully shot, acting was good, but too many questions left unaswered.
In Time: Great concept but like The island it quickly devolves in the standard chase nonsense while not being as good at it.

I did enjoy all these movies but they're not coming anywhere close to classics like 12 monkeys or Blade runner. It's time for a new sci-fi classic, who is going to make it?

In time does make you think though. Replace the time idea with money and it's pretty much a direct reflection of modern capitalism, there can't be rich people without the poor. And without the poor nobody will do the crappy jobs.

I just watched Loom by Luke Scott, produced by his father Ridley Scott.
It was entirely shot in 4K, a 20 minute short specially made to showcase the capabilities of the upcoming RED 4K laser projector.
Needless to say it is visually stunning, the lighting and use of color is amazing. The film itself is an interesting look into a future mix of Blade runner and genetic engineering gone too far.

It's available on you tube at 1 mbps 1280x534

And available for download at 10mbps (1726x720) 1.6gb

(The 4K version is only available at screenings)

I just watched the original "total recall" with Arnold Schwarzenegger, it's a bit cheesy but quite an enjoyable film

"But don't you remember, we're married"
*Bang Bang*
"Consider it a divorce"

That film is a true Arnie classic. Might try to watch The Wrestler or Army of Darkness.

I will watch the Narnia Trilogy this week. The Lion the Witch and the Wardarobe was good but a bit childish, despite that I love this lion he is the perfect animal liam Neeson.

I watched a porn this Weekend called Katwomen and it was better then the Halle Barry movie :S

I enjoyed that film. Was a lot better than I expected. The second one wasnt too bad either.

There is a Kip Raines from Gone in 60 seconds, Giovanni Ribisi, plays Galvin in Loom.

I thought Dawn treader was the weakest of the Narnia movies, trying to be like Pirates of the Caribbean.

Talking about Pirates, I just watched On stranger tides on blu-ray. A great adventure movie, fun from start to finish. Better then at world's end imo. Visuals and sound are stunning. This one really needs to be enjoyed in a dark room. Half the movie plays in the shadows which looks great and the colors never suffer, but any outside light should be avoided to enjoy the details.
More of these uncomplicated fun witty adventure movies please. Enough with the super heroes.

Watched Me, Myself & Irene for the third time and American Gangster and Natural Born Killers for the first time all very good movies.
