I watched Interstellar again. I had the house to myself so I could turn up my home theater as loud as I wanted :)
Awesome movie. The top and bottom of the IMAX sections are cut off on blu-ray but I guess that's better than adding black bars on the sides. It looks sharper than the normal 2.35:1 footage, not as big a difference as in the IMAX theater of course, but interesting that it's still very noticeable down sampled to 1080p.
The sound was better at home, better balance and no clipping from the high frequencies. I put my amplifier to the test anyway, I could smell the thing at the end of the docking sequence. That generates a lot of heat.

Was Jupiter ascending any good? I saw it's out on blu-ray already but 5.5 on imdb :/
I might have to get it for the visuals when it drops in price. I survived After earth as well, barely.

japans answer to the hunger :p school kids need to survive silly childish games to stay alive but whos behind those games and why is a mystery and it ends with a cliffhanger.. has many issues but it was still intense and brutal as fuck.

dark matter (sci fi) new show cliched not a very promising start but it was enjoyable.

jupiter ascending i hated everything about it but if you're for some stupid cgi nonsense then its ok i guess.

Is it closer to an After Earth type fail, or a John Carter mindless fun.
I'll end up with it anyway, it's sci-fi, in the end I won't be able to resist. Though not spending $25 on it.

The island is keeping its pace so far, 1 dropout each episode.

I watched the first episode of Dark Matter as well. Indeed clumsy start, guns guns guns, plot 'twist' that was written on the walls. Still curious to see where it is going, if anywhere.

Apparently the last ship got a second season, starting this Friday. I guess I'll check if they learned to act yet :)

Saw the premiere of The astronauts wives club, 6/10
It looks good, nice to have the old footage in there too, but it's not captivating like The right stuff was. Desmond Harrington aka Joey Quinn from Dexter as Alan Shepard is a terrible cast imo. Don't like him at all.
I guess the show is trying to show the propaganda drive behind the space program, but it feels more like glorifying the good old days.

new sci fi show low quality overall acting is decent lots of action.. story got me lost too many names and surnames.

I've started watching a show called Empire and I'm really enjoying it. Its a musical soap that has lots of drama and twists. I didn't really see the appeal of it when I saw the trailer, but after it become the highest rated scripted show on TV after The Walking Dead, I gave it a try and liked it. Maybe some of you will like it too.

Mad Max Fury Road

first big action sequence is by far the best everything after falls a bit flat and the movie slows down considerably..theres a lot of sped up footage which is a bit overused and in shots where it doesnt fit but it does add a bit humor to the whole nonsense. things like a bunch of people dont see one guy sneaking up on them in the middle of a war bothers me a lot personally i just cant stand it and theres one fall that should have killed instantly and guess what not even a broken bone i dont care how over the top it is... and you cant say its because sand ...people die in dakar look it up its not a freaking cartoon period.

yeah its full of adrenaline if you like the sound of engines the sense of speed but i never felt the sense of danger thats the one thing missing and because of that it is not great but its close... and every character that you suspect will die eventually dies and the ones you suspect will live well they live :p and whats up with that voice of his feels like he dubbed himself lol

soundtrack is awesome beutifully shot some beautiful women or should i say girls and thats it the more i talk about fury road the angrier i get and the score drops was still a lot of fun and will probably watch it again tomorrow with the wife.
