I heard it sold 400k through digital distribution in Europe.

Lol
Sony exclusives (exception of GT Series) usually flop in Europe and do very good on USA so its no surprise.
I guess Sony knows they have Europe hold with Fifas and PeS and they dont give a sh** so they try to give American Gamers incentives to buy Ps3 and not 360.
Ps3 has been doing some good numbers on USA since price drop so i guess its working for them, if it works dont fix

| RolStoppable said: Hey guys, I thought we need to talk about this: Twisted Metal sold 12,259 copies in Europe. It was only available for two days, but 12k is not much anyway. Let's be honest here, this is a MAJOR flop. Not even the typical "all PS3 exclusives are the best games ever made" antics of Sony fans will turn this game into a success. This could have an impact on other Sony games coming to the PS3. In recent months Sony has already shut down BigBig Studios and restructured Sony Cambridge, currently rumors are going around that Zipper Interactive is next. So can we still say that Sony games don't sell on Sony systems?
For comparison, the PS3 version Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 sold 2.01m units in its first week in Europe.

There's definately some kind of identity issues going on there. Call of Duty is set in the real world and with real weapons. Gran Turismo is set in the real world too with real cars. Plus both games are established franchises that a lot of people play and buy automatically. Seems like we just lack imagination or maybe the marketing was bad or reviews not good enough....I dunno.
SOCOM 4 flopped that badly it wasn't even worthy to mention it by Rol... :(

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Most pof my friends form Europe are casual gamers and own Fifa/Pro Evolution Soccer, Cod and some oblivion too (literally no other game thoug). Makes sense.

The reason Twisted Metal flopped so badly in Europe is because of it's gruesome and somewhat disturbing content. Plenty of 'mature' games like this see disproportionately low sales in Europe. (God of War, Left 4 Dead, Gears of War, etc)

I had to keep the original post at a reasonable length, so a lot of flops (and there are a lot) had to be omitted. |

Killzone 3 (0.66m) and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One (0.13m). SOCOM 4 is at 0.07m. |
