Some kind of "presentation" of Epic Mickey 2 will occur next week, according to a tweetfrom France's Nintendo Magazine. Being a Nintendo magazine, the publication specifically highlights a 3DS version called "Power of Illusion" – a name that recalls classic Mickey games like World of Illusion and Castle of Illusion. The tweet also points to a "classic" 2D game that will be shown during next week's event, but stops short of providing any actual details.

A sequel to 2010's Epic Mickey has been rumored for some time, to the extent that box art for the game has even been bandied about by a marketing survey. Warren Spector's Junction Point Studios, the development house behind Epic Mickey, was hit by layoffs last January after the Wii-exclusive title launched, likely due to massive losses in Disney's interactive (read: games) department.

Update: Disney Interactive declined to comment, saying it had "no information to share at this time."

Perhaps there will be two versions of EM2, one for the HD systems, including the Wii U, and another for the Wii and 3DS? If so, perhaps the Wii/3DS version will focus on just the 2D platforming segments or something, while the HD version removes that portion in favor of the 3D worlds that people preferred.

The classic game could be any retro title coming to the eShop.

Yes! More Epic Mickey is always a good thing!

Well, my kids really like Epic Mickey... so now in a year or so when I get them 3DSs, this will have to be a purchase.

I hope the 2D game is something like Mickey Mania... the 2D segments in Epic Mickey were soo bland and lifeless - wasted potential there. Didn't like the first game much, so they'll have to impress me a lot tomorrow (if they announce it).

I wish they cut the BS and just let us know what systems the game is coming for, its about time

I remember playing the crap out of I believe World of Illusion (or perhaps the other) on Sega Genesis. Whatever Mickey game I had at that time was very well done. I wasn't even really a Mickey/Disney fan too much at the time (since I was starting to get older into my teens) and I still loved it.
