C'mon! Rednecks r kwe-uuul! ;D

I'm not really tired of the Wii - I'm on my second run thru of Mario Galaxy, still gotta beat Galaxy 2 and still have Hero mode to get thru on Zelda SS - and I haven't even bought Donkey Kong yet :O so there's plenty to do, but I need me some HD experience asap ;)

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Oh and another thing you might want to consider.
psn = free
live = pay

:( *ashamed*

Thank you all for all the insight to the gaming libraries of the HD twins. I gotta go to bed (it's way past my bed time and my gal's nagging ;)), but I'll resume my read-through and consideration tomorrow!

Good nite y'all!

I own both and don't play FPS either.

WRPGs: Xbox 360
Action Adventures: PS3

As the PS3 has the better library of action adventures, let's have a look at WRPGs:
The Witcher 2, Mass Effect 1, Fable 2, Fable 3, Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga, Two Worlds, Risen
=> these are all the X360 WRPGs not available on PS3 afaik (plus: Skyrim seems to be superior on X360)

If you don't absolutely want several of those and if you really want to buy only one console, I recommend you to get a PS3.

But I'd get both consoles at this stage of the console gen. If I didn't already own both consoles I'd get a PS3 just for - say - Flower, Valkyria Chronicles and Uncharted trilogy and a 360 just for Mass Effect trilogy, The Witcher 2 and the superior console version of Skyrim.

I haven't finished either of those games, I have work to do too.

After you get a PS3, check out Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Demon Souls, Valkyria Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles, Uncharted 1&2, Disgea 3, the Sly Cooper HD collection, Jak and Daxter HD collection, and Ratchet and Clank:Future Tools of Destruction or R & C: A Crack in time.. They should all be pretty cheap in price. $20-$30 or less for most of them. And they are all great exclusive games that I think there's a good chance you would enjoy and probably miss if no one told you about them as they are all 2+ years old. Some of them have sequels too if you end up liking them.

I'm just a 360 guy, but I'll do my best for a far comparison between what console does better.

WRPG's: 360>ps3. You got the Fable series, ME1, Divinity 2, Too Human(personally find underrated), Witcher 2 comes out next month and most multiplats run better like Skyrim, Fallout 3, etc.

Action/Adventure, "hack and slash": Ps3>360. Uncharted series, God Of War 3(along with collections), Infamous series. 360 does have some great games like Alan Wake and Crackdown1&2, but ps3 is better.

Racing: 360>Ps3. Forza series and PGR 3&4. There will be Forza Horizon releasing later this year. Ps3 definitely has so good racing games though like GT5, Modnation racers, twisted metal but I just think 360 has more and better racing games as a whole.

Platforms: Ps3>360. Little Big Planets 1&2, Rachet and Clank series. 360 has some great platforms like Mr.& Mrs. Splosion man, Super meat boy, comic jumper, etc, but almost all their best are for XBLA. Ps3 has it beat in Retailers.

TPS/FPS: This one pretty close to call a clear winner. 360 has Halo series, Gears of War series, L4D1&2 and Halo 4 releases this year. Ps3 has Killzone 2&3, Resistance series, Socom series, MAG and StarHawk releases this year. Personally Halo is my favorite franchise so it's a default winner for me, but both libraries and pretty close in number. Some say Ps3 has more shooters, but 360 has better ones. So it just comes down to what you like.

I was trying to be as unbaised as possible and I think most people will agree with my comparison. In the end though Multiplat games have dominated this gen so weither you choose 360 or Ps3, there will never be a short coming of games to play.

Toughie. PS3 I'd say is better for platforming/action adventure exclusives but 360 I think is still better overall for RPG in terms of exclusives.

What about online? Is this important or something casual for you? If important 360 has slightly better online but it only really comes into it's own if you regularly play with same friends, etc. Otherwise PS3 offers pretty much the same experience if you simply play casually with strangers and there is no fee.

You know what, why not take a long, careful look at the true exclusives for each at the moment (including 360/PC exclusives as it sounds like your PC is not that powerful) - i.e. Gears, Left fo Dead, etc. on 360 or Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, etc. on PS3 and decide which has more titles you are interested in.

Given most of the titles on each are the same 90% of the library is pretty much identical so you'd probably be best served deciding which exclusives appeal more.

Or think lateral and get a 3DS or Vita instead. Or wait a bit longer and get both after the price drops all the analysts seems to reckon are coming this year.

Online is not an issue for me: I couldn't care less! I'm not really that good at gaming, so I like to take it nice and slow ;)

I would get a 3DS - but they really have to redesign it first! And get a little bit more SW support...

When is this price cut coming? This summer? This fall?

Remember there is no guarantee of a cut (that's my disclaimer!) but the expectation seems to be E3 will see at least one of the two price drop.

Given you're not too bothered about graphics you should probably also factor in the increasingly large number of remastered PS2 classics on PS3 as well.

I'd also consider if tone makes any difference - by that I mean most of the core 360 exclusives in terms of action lean more to gory action a'la Gears and the like whereas on PS3 the tone of most similar titles like Uncharted is lighter.  I prefer the lighter, more action movie tone vs over the top gore myself which is one reason why I lean more towards PS3 (although I have a 360 too).

Really though from your comments it would be hard to go wrong with either - you just need to decide which set of titles you'd rather pass up if you are only going to get one of the two.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

You mean all RPGs or just WRPGs/JRPGs?

Does it matter? The Xbox 360 has no exclusive WRPGs besides Fable which, lets be honest, is going downhill.

I think PS3 is your best choice here.. Although the Xbox 360 does have a few exclusive JRPGs such as Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.. but the PS3 has some as well such as Valkyria Chronicles and White Knight Chronicles.

Considering you have a crappy PC, if your main concern is rpgs, I would definitely go with the xbox 360 .

You said you enjoyed Fable so theres the big exclusive to hook you. You also get playable bethesda games, Witcher 2, full mass effect trilogy, lost odyssey, tales of vesperia, blue dragon, infinite indiscovery, and if your computer is so crappy it can't even run minecraft, you get minecraft, along with a bunch of nice xbla games.

The only ps3 exclusive rpg imo that you will really be missing out on is valkaria chronicles, but that is more of a stratagy game. Regardless it is really really good, so you are missing out on a great game. I will admit i haven't bought any psn games yet, so you may be missing out on some good ones.

If your main concern is action games, PS3 obviously wins it, it has a far bigger lineup of exclusive action games and the only great games you will be missing out on is a playable version of bayonetta and alan wake.

Platformers, ps3 has littlebigplanet, which i personally hated, but you might enjoy greatly. The 360 has banjo kazooie nuts and bolts which was decent but nothing special.  Both systems have a bunch of great arcade/psn platformers though.
