It'll sell around 160k week one, then a steep decline in weeks two and three...I'd say the game would be lucky to crack 250k LTD.

Really? 90k after FW? You know how the sales went in the EU, right? And it's still selling! For this game, it's biggest draw was word of mouth. Sure, sales dropped heavily, but they were maintained for a long time because of the praise. Unless there's stocking issues, this will be the same in America.

Hopefully. You should know though how brain washed people are here in America, kids only play FPS's because they're "cool" and most people who are over 18 don't care about RPG's. America sucks for anything other than Microsoft/Nintendo (Even though the Nintendo part is a good thing) and FPS/TPS.

This may well be the case, but only a small amount of people need to think otherwise; FF games show there's a market, and the hype for the game should push copies.

It would also be nice if there was marketing for it.

Well, there's still 3-4 weeks to go...and there was little advertisement in the EU either, so it's no issue really...

Well, two things to further explain my 160k figure:

1) Hundreds of thousands of people have pirated the game, and of those, most of them are the RPG enthusiasts, of whom most of them will have either already finished it, or decided it's not for them. Either way, both will mean lost sales for the NA release.

2) Most importantly, JRPG's have lost a LOT of their popularity from the PS2 era. This generation has basically ruined the reputation for JRPG's, with the only exception being the DS, because developers could use N64 graphics. This means, even if Xenoblade is one of the best JRPG's of this generation, that isn't saying much. This generation has been terrible for JRPG's.

Sales in NA will not be very good. The Wii has been in steep decline since the beginning of 2011, and the release of a two year-old JRPG isn't going to change that.

90K.

Wow I am surprised the pre orders are that high. I would never have guessed it would have that many copies pre- ordered. Considering the game is an Ebgames exclusive those kinds of numbers are amazing. If the game sells around 500k it will be probably considered a huge success.

nowhere near as many as it deserves, that's for sure. But all those folks from Operation Rainfall will be buying it, right? Hellooo?

Hmm let's see preorders - vgc nintendo bias modifier - vgc jrpg constant overtracking modifier - vgc niche game with huge internet hype modifier sounds like 80-10k first week to me.

Like Mass Effect 3 was, I think this game is overtracked. VGC had Mass Effect 3 pre-orders at about 1 million days before release. It opened to 1,066 million, meaning week 1 sales would have all been pre-orders.

I'm thinking 180k. It's on track top top 200k by pre-orders, but I think this is severely over-tracked.

I'm not optimistic but I need to buy this

also the last story is up for pre order as well, pick it up, the combat is good.

Im hoping for a 200k+ first week.
