Coach Sá Pinto is giving the team the desire to win that missed with Domingos. Now we're going to play against Metalist. Força Sporting!

Who the f... is ManU??
As a Porto fan, I loved seeing Sporting going through at the expense of Man. City. Sporting dominated the first half of the game and could have easily scored another goal, but they were a bit unlucky and the defense suffered a bit in the second half. Even so, totally deserved for them to be in quarter finals of the Europa League and I wish them the best of luck against Metalist.
Same goes for Benfica versus Chelsea. Chelsea better not go into both games thinking that Benfica is an easy match for them. Benfica has one of the fastest transition movements I've seen in Europe for the past seasons (since Jorge Jesus took over the team) and Chelsea isn't exactly a fast team to recover their defensive line should an attack fail. Best of luck for Benfica as well

Rubbish? its pure stats. Even Liverpool with a much weaker squad and "worse" managers have had 2 champions league finals in the last 10 years and won one of them. Fergie has underachieved in Europe, I dont see how you can square the statements "greatest manager in the world" along with one of the top 3 teams in the world getting to three champions league finals in over 20 years and only winning two. They were outplayed in their first win, won the second on penalties due to the terry slip and were utterly mullered in the third. I agree that Fergie gets more from the team than other managers, but he doesnt have it in Europe. I cant wait for him to retire.... as their domestic form will more closely follow their European form. |
No Liverpool had a very good squad at the time and never had to play Barcelona in both their finals. AC Milan were good but both weren't on the same level as Barcelona. It also doesn't matter how they won those finals, but fact is, they did. Ferguson is a top European manager, but yes your right, for the size of the club they should have won more in their history.
You can't deny his quality just based on Europe. He's the greatest British manager ever to have lived. He also won the European cup winners cup and super cup with Aberdeen!

WTF happened to the english teams this season? If it weren't for Chelsea...OMG.
I'm broken hearted too. Last night for the Libertadores de America (the south american chanpions league), my team (Flamengo) was playing a beuatiful game (Ronaldinho was Killing it,his first good game in a long time), winning 3x0, suddenly,in the last fucking 15 minutes of the game we let them come back and tie the Fucking game. Un' fucking' believable I could not sleep last night.

I never thought City or United would have ended on Europe League.
