Forums - Nintendo - I love the Wii doubters

True but from what sources say on IGN the next Nintendo will be able to play the Wii games we have now but will have better graphics then PS3 or 360 which if its 5 years from now it better be, but think in 5 years of dominating and getting people that wouldn't play games into gaming then release a much stronger and "hardcore gamer" type console, they roped in their new crowd and got them into serious gaming, and will probably be loyal to Nintendo. but yes people in the media like to fire off at the mouth whenever they can so there's no need to listen to them, just like with political elections they don't know jack. Just ignore them, don't post their links don't give them hits on their page, don't watch their shows, and then see them disappear.

Too many people have vested interest in the former status quo.

There is a lot of misinforation and misinterpretation. And there is misunderstanding.

Just remember, the median age in the US is approaching 40. It is older in Europe and Japan. Thus, if you just appeal to the core, your market is not growing as fast (and in some cases it is shrinking) as other segments of the population.

There are many who cannot grasp that.

Plus, Microsoft's reliability issues and Sony's (perceived) lack of a good games (and actual lack of a variety of genres) given their prices have led both systems to perform not as well as the Wii.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

The Wii's lifetime sells WILL NOT outsell the PS2's lifetime sales, or the PS3's for that matter. Quote me I dare you.

My games are in my collection.

Fav Devs: Naughty Dog and Insomniac.
And yes I like KH.

Cheers to a good year of laughs and sales.

Hey they have a point, right? When Nintendo releases the next console in 5 years and Sony continues with its 10 year plan, the analysts will say "See, we were right. The Wii is a fad."

10 years?

I would bet a permaban that it won't happen.

You realized I was being sarcastic, right?

@reload92

That's borderline flamebaiting, you realize... Anyway, you'll find that your opinion's not widely held here, so don't be surprised if somebody does quote you on that.

Sony can't afford to release near last again....

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

It took years before 'professionals' decided that Apple was for real and the iPod wasn't a fleeting fad. If I only had a dollar for every time somebody said the iPod was inferior to some other music player and eventually Apple would be unable to keep selling iPods at a huge profit.

See i said the ipod was inferior to some other music players (pretty much all.) but never said the better ones would outsell it.

The problem is people look to much to value instead of looking at perceived value and market momentum.

Ah yes, the old economic truism: an item is worth whatever a person is willing to pay for it, and you can either opt to change your price to match that perception, or change that perception to match your price. And thus were the techniquess of price-balancing and marketing born...

The real bitter tears have yet to flow. I blame Wii Fit.
