@SamuelRSmith I'm not that low dude. I'm above faking a limp. Ahh who am I kidding? I just wished I would have thought of that earlier.

According to your post, you spent 40 minutes looking at your feet... surely they would have you given you that idea?

I use the fake limp all the time.

In the rare occassions where you have no choice but to park in a disabled spot, limp out the car.

Back in school, I would always develop a limp whenever it was long-distance running in phys. ed.

Interesting. Has the limp ever failed you? Can I use it to cut in line a the amusement park

No, although many amusement parks offer wheelchair rental, which you can use to your benefit. Pretending your catching up to a family member also works great.

Damn dude, you're a genious! You should make a list full of these dishonorable ways to get ahead in life.

Yes you do. You lose time, energy, and opportunity cost, for helping someone. There is always a consequence for everything you do. He made his desicion and there is nothing wrong about it.

Yeah tell that to the person that one day ignores you while you need help with something. He/she will tell you they will loose energy if they let you sit on their seat.

You might be healthy and don’t need help but one day you will and you will ask yourself why did I not help that poor lady that needed help carrying the bags a couple of meters to get too her house.

Not sure why that would matter. If I'm down on my luck and no one offered me a seat, they can use the same reason I stated, and it wouldn't change anything. The consequence for helping the lady has the same level of risk as the consequence for not helping her. He doesn't need to help her because there is nothing to be gained and the reverse is also true. So, in a sense, there is no right or wrong answer for what he did. He just chose to do what felt was best, considering the circumstances. There is no right or wrong for what he did. Which is why I said it.

Ok so if you don’t gain anything you don’t do it then. That’s great! we need more people like you  >_>

If an old lady came up to you on the bus, and I don't know let's go with something silly, your leg is asleep and you realize that if you stood up to give her your seat, you would collide into her.

LOL, that's a bit extreme, don't you think?n

No we don't, though I take it you're trying to insult me in some form or another so I'll let it slide. The main point I was trying to make, have made, and will continue to make,is that what he decided to do wasn't right or wrong. I'm not trying to advocate going out and never doing anything at all whatsoever. If an old lady came up to you on the bus, and I don't know let's go with something silly, your leg is asleep and you realize that if you stood up to give her your seat, you would collide into her. Let's hold all things constant and assume that if your leg is asleep that will happen 100% of the time. Who is right or wrong in that circumstance?

It doesn’t take long before my leg wakes up so I can stand on the other one until I can use both. As for colliding with her, well I could wait until the buss stops and then get up and let her sit.

If I had a broken leg then that’s another thing. You help when you can of course

What you loose in standing is gained by the good feeling that you helped someone in need and that’s enough for me

Well, I was trying to make it sound as silly as I could, but actually sound like a valid risk. I need to work on my humor.

You still didn't answer my question, you basically just dodged it.

Also I stated, if all things are held constant, there's is a 100% chance you will collide with this old lady. You cannot change varibles on something absolute.

Since you did decide to stand, however, that means you decided to collide with the elderly lady. Is that the good feeling that you gained for making your decision? Your decision wasn't wrong, since you chose it, as with everything though, there will be consequences.

You could always attend my comedy classes every Thurday night. I've taught some of the funniest characters on the site. And between me and you, once everyone knows you're funny, you'll have all the VGCgirls chasing you.

Ok so I am in a position where I can’t help her just like if I had a broken leg but in this case I will collide with her if I do get up.

No I would not move because of the reasons. If I can’t help then it’s not my fault but if I can and I ignore it then I would feel bad afterwards

@Axumblade

I like the idea of playing sick. I'll give that idea a try today if I'm feeling tired. Or I could just do the limp thing.

No, you're not wrong. You shouldn't care about her since she probably doesn't care about you either.
