i believe the reason is that in US 360 is the favored console its evident by how it sales raised there significantly once the wii's fell last year and that PS3 was never able to outsell it even at $299 or $249 and after all its major exclusives released gt5, uc2 and 3, and gow3 ect.
most game are multiplat now, since MS released first and had a pretty big sized user base once the ps3 released, not alot of people would switch there SW purchases to PS3 after getting one. they wont switch there SW purchases probably b/c of things that werent around gens ago like online community and achievements
idk about all this movie stuff i never watched a blu ray on my ps3 that i had since 07 and since around 09 i never bought or rented a physical copy of a movie, i dont even know many that have either they either watch pirated movies or use netflix
