@Blacksaber: Awesome!
I found some news that could possibly mean something about the future of the show, or could just be a big joke. It's a few days old at this point, but no one has posted about it yet, so I'll post everything that I found. First of all, there's this post on Equestria Daily and this post on ponyleaks. They both say that a new writer was hired for something MLP related. Unfortunately, both were posted on April 1st, which naturally makes everyone either think it's a joke, or skeptical at best. So, I dug around a bit, because the ponyleaks source mentioned that this was tweeted on March 27th.
The new writer in question is Natasha Levinger (link to Twitter). On her page, you'll not see the tweet mentioned, but you will see these two tweets. The first one is pretty ambiguous and could mean anything. The second one clearly mentions a new writing job that Natasha recieved. Both are dated March 27th. That first tweet is actually the more interesting one, however. I looked at the page of Mary Catherine (link to Twitter) and found this interesting tweet. It says, "Yay! This is great. RT @natashalevinger: Friends, family and bronies, looks like I'm the newest writer on #mylittlepony" Dated March 27th. The odd part is that this only recieved two retweets. We don't know how many the original recieved, but surely something like this with #mylittlepony would catch a bit more attention?
Additionally, someone else found this blog post here. It says "Harper’s reaction to my writing on My Little Pony: That’s not true. Me: You don’t believe me? Harper: (dismissively) I believe you’re a good actress. My mother’s reaction: This is a real job? Insert Rodney Dangerfield’s catchphrase here." This post is dated March 29th, and is now gone (this is an archived version). As far as the brony community discussing this, someone pointed me to this thread here, and I found this reddit post here. In the first link, you see people mention that both the blog post and tweet were up at that time. Again, unfortunately, both of these sources are dated April 1st.
So, I searched Natasha Levinger on reddit. There were only three results. One was the post I linked to above, and the most recent one linked to the thread I linked to above. The second is basically useless and contains almost no replies. It was also posted by the same person who posted the one I linked above, on April 2nd (which they said they would do in the first one, since no one would believe it on April 1st).
Lastly, who is this elusive Natasha Levinger? Well, according to IMDB... no one with much experience or who is well known. What this could mean, if true, is that season three is very likely longer than 13 episodes, since it's not likely that they would need a new writer to finish those up. She could have been hired for another 13 episodes of season 3, or maybe even a season 4. But all of this evidence is iffy at best. All of this information wasn't really noticed before April 1st. She has little to no experience in general, nevermind with animation. And almost everything is gone now (which could be explained by some form of NDA with Hasbro, but who knows?). I'd like to think that no one would be so mean as to do something like this, but it is possible... So, what do you guys think? True story, or cruel, elaborate joke?
