Guys, there is no point arguing with these people. If you post pictures that they think look worse, they call you out on it, if you post pictures that they think look better, they will say they're bullshots or low res in denial.

The countless in game, high resolution, user-captured pictures speak for themselves.

It's funny really, the only xbox 360 shots people have posted were
1. Comparing Gears of War 3 to the downloadable Uncharted 3 beta in an attempt to trick us,
2. bullshots from Forza 4's autovista mode
3. the cockpit screenshots from Forza 3 and 4 that, when I posted better looking pictures, the guy said 'oh the ones I posted I just quickly found on the internet they don't count'

2009 Killzone 2 was runner up to UC2, but so was Alan Wake 2.

what does this mean, how can killzone be the runner up, if alan wake was the runner up, which one is it. again UC2 won easily over 90% of best graphics, with Killzone taking the majority of the rest, and i dont know of any place that gave Alan wake best graphics, which is like 540p or something.multiple runner ups, and you would be surprised how few best graphics Killzone 2 won.

In E3 2008 Gears of War 2 won best graphics (Over Killzone 2, and Crysis Warhead), but MGS4 won for the year.

killzone 2 came out in 2009, why compare it to GeOW2 which came out in 2008. also MGS4 won more best graphics, as did crysis, and i believe even GTAIV. E3 rates upcoming games, and IGN compared those, Gears 2 beat Killzone 2, which many people here put second to Uncharted. Prooves a point, that even if Uncharted is the best graphically, 1 franchise hardly puts the PS3 console on top when #2 is 360 exclusive.

 

Also P.S. Crysis on XBLA and PSN doesn't look that different then Crysis on PC. Crysis > Uncharted, but UC3 > Crysis. Overall, the verdict, your crazy to care about small differences like this. Get a PC, play any game in 1080p, and then hush. Your comparing games that look nearly identical in 720p and sub 720p, when any of these games look much much better on Pc in native 1080p.

you are talking about others going crazy about this stuff, but look in the mirror, you cant even accept things that are pretty much well established. in almost every reputable site, including sites like DF or what ever the other site is, lens something. you will see its usually considered (not direct lists but, taking into account of what they say about said game). best graphics are UC3>KZ3>GOW3>UC2>KZ2> then perhaps Crysis2 (sometimes crysis is listed above KZ2, which is funny since KZ2 is 720p with locked 30fps, and good AA).So if Gears 2 > KZ2, and Gears 3 is above KZ3....that means Gears 3 is #2, which means the best graphics games are staggered over the HD consoles... Which prooves this thread to be complete false.

those games are all from the same year. and GOW3 the most. furthermore you seem to be the only one mentioning Heavy Rain, i havent seen anybody else bring it up, in fact the same goes for ME2 and Alan Wake. what do they have anything to do with, they didnt win many if at all best graphics. no thats false, GT5's native resolution is 1080p (1280x1080) just check DF are any other site.

That's not 1080p.....1080p is 1920x1080. 1280x1080 is sub 1080p.

GT5 = 1080p always (you can choose 720p with more AA). and frame rate analysis shows GT5 is usualy around 50fps, and thats when the game first launched many things have been improved sense.

Posted link above, frequent FPS dips to below 30FPS, even in Spec 2.0.... GT5 is also only 720p, like Forza 4...

Forza = 720p always. with frame rate usually around 59-60fps. and they had to make great sacrifices to get 16 cars at the same time like gt5 has. and it still doesnt have weather effects or day night transistions

It's because the Uncharted franchise IS miles ahead of the competition. 2011 was a further estimate to this. Killzone 2, Killzone 3, Crysis 2, Rage, Gears 3, Forza 3, Forza 4 -- You name the games released in 2009 and 2011 that you find fancy in terms of graphics. Uncharted 2 & 3 are bombarded with awards because it just IS the definite king according to CRITICS and Media outlets this generation. You disagree personally? Fine mate. Forza and GT have barely won any graphic awards for a reason. People don't find them as stunning as other games. I'd even say the racing genre as a whole is a tad back in comparison to adventure / action games. But thats just MY opinion, nothing factual. What is factual is that other opinions all around the world, that get to play 10 times the amount of games You and I do, are giving awards and praising Uncharted 3, Uncharted 2 and God of War III as the best looking games on consoles, period.

 

Dude you're obsessing over resolution as it is the only thing to have. By your standards:
Wipeout HD is the console graphics king :). Oh please...

UC3 > UC2 > KZ3 > GoW3

KZ2 is long passed in my opinion!! Once again you go ahead with IGN. Jesus christ, thats ONE site. GameReactor made a list of the best engines and graphics on consoles. They say : 1. UC3, 2. UC2, 3.KZ3, 4.GoW3 => Exactly what I believe myself :D! Still though, they are just ONE site out of many. I am simply saying UC2, UC3 and GoW3 have won butt fuck ton of awards for their work on the visual front each year. People all around the world are amazed by these games. Thats why they are being praised unlike Forza and Gears (I'm sorry brah'). But I get the feeling that you LOVE racing games in visuals. Great for you! I personally feel GT5 has some AMAZING moments but overall, its piss-poor in comparison to Uncharted and God of War ^_^. I'm still sick over that picture you gave over FM4.

I'm simply showing you that there are others who appreciate these games visually.. and a very VERY vast MAJORITY at that. 09-10-11, Graphics winner has been like 80-90% of the overall awards with the rest of the percentage being scatterd all over the place!

Alan Wake being on Par with HR because it came SECOND rather than FIRST, yeah that makes sense LOL.

No, Heavy Rain should not be a "graphics" king because I have played the game, I own it. Im actually playing it as we speak. It does NOT look that good and it never did in my eyes. Awards are a showcase of that.

Thats all you need to know. The top 3 tier, the holy trinity. With The last of us from ND coming and a potential God of War IV.. "yay".

Like I said fool, its about majoritiy of opinions that actually have a fanbase. Small or not, if they own a domain and have been in the buisness for over 5 years, they are relevant. Stop cherry picking sites and accumulate them as a whole. Gears 3 at #2? I want maaany sources bro. "Most articles I read say", Are you hanging too much on xboxfanboy.com? UC3, UC2 and GoW3 having engines optimized for the PS3 look all better than Gears 3's UE3 for the 360. Its' not rocket science. Its the same reason why each year a Gears comes out, it gets overshadowed by Uncharted. The fact that God of War reached a similar amount of graphic awards is because its almost if not , on par. Although I'd argue that two Uncharteds have given ND the edge over Santa Monica ( perhaps GoW4 will solve that) then again theres always TLOU on the way.

But let me put it this way. You said it yourself: UC3 is nr 1. Now I know you keep going on about "its not THAT BIG OF A DIFFERENCE", but you're saying it yourself. Its number 1. Period. Well there you go. PS3 has the best looking game at the moment. Lets leave it at that :).

All im saying is Gears has never won as many awards as both Uncharteds despite being released on the same year. Its not even CLOSE.
And in 2010, God of War 3 has won up to Uncharted standards graphic awards:
Those 3 are in a league of their own buddy. If theres such a "little" difference that it comes down to opinion, its very funny that Gears barely gets any love ^^.

Furthermore if anyone actually plays God of War 3 along with both Uncharteds, I have a very hard time this person can claim Forza and GT to look better lmao..
