That Castlevania Boxart looks stunning and will sit nicely with my DS/3DS games and It's imo the best boxart that the system has to offer. I have been a Castlevania fan since Circle of the Moon, but I have only played that one, Portrait of Ruin, Dawn of Sorrow and Order of Ecclescia.
Now if we only get the L-Mansion boxart and Layton 5 Euro Boxart.

The first game looked a little bit on the flash game style... this game looks much better with the painting style!

Is anyone besides me worried about what the 3DS may have in store during 2014? The only game I can think of to release then is Pokémon Gen 6 and maybe MH4 for the west. Next year we are going to have Animal Crossing, Castlevania, L-Mansion 2 and probably a new Zelda because next year will be the 4th year without a proper Zeöda title for the 3DS, Nintendo have had plenty time to do something.

I hope we can get some really nice titles for 2014, with luck we might able to get LaytonvsWright in 2014 or 2013 depending on if it releases this year in Japan or not. If they release it next year then I'm guessing that Layton 6 will be available during 2014 in Japan and 2015 for the rest.
What are your thoughts about the upcomming games for the 3DS next and the year after?

etc...

But I agree, Nintendo spent a lot of ammunition this year (and many big 3rd party games also), so they'll have to work extra hard to keep the pace. It was clearly a strategy though, to secure a more healthy future for the system.

I got a 3DS near launch. I didn't get a Wii until about a month ago.

I totally forgot about Kirby,Rythm Heaven and Mario & Luigi, but I don't think we will be getting a metroid for the 3DS, Yoshi Island may be a possibility. I also forgot that Fire Emblem will release next year. Well there is always one of those new IPs that Miyamoto has been working on, I think he said that he was working on something for both 3DS and Wii U, but next year will be quite big in terms of games for the west. It's what happens onwards that concerns me, they have already used quite few IPs, but we will have to wait till next month to Judge fo what we may get.

Haha, slow down! We're barely midway through 2012 and you're already worrying about 2014?

Nintendo has an abundance of options to explore. We'll probably see another Mario game -- 2D, 3D, I don't know, but I'll bet it doesn't start with "New Super." They may choose to revisit an older franchise like Star Fox or F-Zero. I bet we get at least one 3DS Metroid game. 2014 will probably be Smash Bros. year. Then you've got Donkey Kong, Kirby, Pokemon, possibly another Fire Emblem, WarioWare, Yoshi, Mario & Luigi, Advance Wars, and plenty of others for Nintendo to draw on, plus the possibility of something new or just unexpected for a handheld, like Pikmin. I also don't think Zelda 3DS will necessarily come out next year.

Then there's the third-party games. Capcom has already expressed an interest in making another Resident Evil, Monster Hunter is a yearly franchise, Street Fighter IV 3D was pretty successful which might encourage them to port more fighting games, Ace Attorney 5 is in development, and Mega Man has been dormant for too long. Square is already showing great support with both existing franchises (DQ, KH) and new IP (Bravely Default, Heroes of Ruin); count on more ports of old games, especially older FF games, and hopefully more new games as well. Sega will continue bringing the Sonic games. Level-5 isn't shutting Professor Layton down any time soon. Trauma Center. Harvest Moon, Rune Factory. More Castlevania (DS had 3, right?). Mind you, these are just the obvious ones.

I think there are all sorts of possibilities for 2013 2014. For one thing, all of the studios that made games for the DS and 3DS in 2010 and 2011 will be ready for another round of games. So I'm thinking:

2013: Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby remakes, Mario & Luigi RPG 4, Kirby, and a New Zelda in addition to Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing.

2014: Pokemon Generation 6, Zelda Remake, Super Mario 3D Land 2, Super Smash Bros 4, and Golden Sun 4.

Either Year: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and Ranger games, new IP from EAD 1, Mario Party 3D, Metroid, WarioWare, etc.

From 3rd Parties, I'm thinking:

2013: Castlevania, Monster Hunter 4, Shin Megami Tensei 4, Sonic, Contra 5

2014: ???
