Forums - PC Discussion - SimCity 5 Official coming to PC 2013

Things this simcity needs:

-Lots of freeway types w/ custom onramp/off ramp design.
-Road customization to the point of paths in rollercoaster tycoon. You can make a road go up/down/into the ground/etc.
-Advanced road drawing mode where you can design before you confirm building the road (see iPhone simcity)
- Upgradable roads where you can add extra lanes, carpool lanes, shoulders, etc. We already know we are getting curvy roads which is awesome.
-Intersection customization - convert from stop sign to stop light. Put in yielding right turns. Control stoplight timing, road priorities, etc. 3-5 pronged intersections if desired.
- Circle intersections of course.
- More methods of transportation: light rail, monorail, bike trails, subways, customizable subway stations, etc.
- Sim copter mode where you can fly over your city and use the megaphone. (get movin' you stupid Canadians!)
- Elections. Sort of controversial but it could be an option you turn on. Every x years... an election is run to see if you can continue playing your city. You can spend lots of money and buy off people, or you can try and get a good mayor rating... your opponent would be random but would get harder and harder as you kept playing the game.
- Park zones. For god's sakes park zones. (can't tell you how annoying placing little parks everywhere can be).
- Real time. You can slow the game down to the point where 1 hour in real life is 1 hour in the game world. Or you can speed it up so that a year goes by in a minute. Big giant slider to control this :)
- Rewind button. Hey Pushmo had it!
-

- Feel free to add to this!

Part of me would love systems like natural resources (mines, quarries forestry etc).
Elections.
Realistic natural environments with endangered animals and natural wonders that you could exploit for tourism or destroy at the cost of fines and lost popularity, protests etc.
Pest problems like locusts, bed bugs and rats.
Starting in the industrial revolution.
Segway cities

But another part hopes they will keep it simple and focus on getting the basics right

My main hope is robust mod support TBH

Most of the road/transport things you mentioned were added to Sim City 4 via modding, (if you play SC4, look up the NAM - network addon mod - it's brilliant, a must-have) so it would be a shame if they don't appear in SC5.  Controlling intersections sounds way too complicated, menial, too much micro-management is a very bad thing.

But, park zones.  Yes. Please.  This.  So bad.

I don't know it seems so on that youtube video, thats why I am asking, did they reveal something about that game that is driving people to boycott it?

should be a perfect match with the iPad 4... I really love SIm City Deluxe on the iPad.. so I'm hoping there will a version for it.. but then again it's EA so I'm pretty sure a version will come..

probably Origin backlash still going on, it's the internet and a major publisher people will find a reason to boycot it lol. Pay them no mind it is Youtube comments after all

For now, I just hope it is more like Simcity 1/2000/3000/4 than Simcity Societies, especially in this era that many developer try to dumb down their games. I played and loved all series of PC Simcity but Simcity Societies.

Finally seen the trailer in full motion... might have to upgrade my PC next year and catch up on some strategy games.
