Forums - Sales - Kane & Lynch sells One Million

reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer, and for people that own more then 1 console

I gotta disagree with that statement. I would never buy a game unless either I've rented it/played the demo, it had amazing reviews and looks good, or its a series I trust like Killzone. I'm gonna buy KZ2 even though Killzone got like a 70 on Metacritic, cause I thought it was better than that.

That sucks. Even bad games sell a million. But a gem like Uncharted? no.

Uncharted will soon make it to a million

Proof that reviews don't mean anything?

I'll admit that for a lot of games the reviews don't work with the sales numbers. Like Wii sports for example only scored a 76 on Metacritic (which isn't real bad), but its sold something like 15 million.

Same with Big Brain Academy, only got a 74 (kinda low, but solid) but sold a lot.

Cooking Mama, anyone? 67 rating (pretty weak).

Thats all I have for now.

The publisher added that Tomb Raider: Anniversary for Wii, which released during the Christmas period, has “performed well” and has received reorders.

This is a bigger surprise for me. According to VGChartz Tomb raider anniversary sold 50k on the xbox and 40k on the Wii... either VGchartz is undertracking the game or they had really low expectations for it.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

In a related story, the entirety of Insomniac committed suicide today.

If the best part of the game was on the demo then thats sad, because the demo is one of the worst things i have ever played.

what the hell are you all talking about? what demo?

i rented the game and it wasnt bad. it was a little bit reminescent of Freedom Fighters and people liked that game.

I think the only thing that kept K&L from being a great game is that it was rushed. Thanks a lot, Eidos. but IO interactive was on the right track.
