yes, i don't think wii would be nintendo's last console had it failed.

I remember a quote from iwata saying that the day Nintendo stops doing proprietary consoles would be the day nintendo vanished. It was soon after he took the CEO post on an old EGM. The article was the about chances of nintendo being bought by Sony or Microsoft or going third party like sega. People were sure it would happen back then (lol). PS2 was unbeatable and PSP was coming to destroy!

Hmmm that first quote might have been what I was thinking of. It's similar in it's message, DS really started the entire disruption in the first place.

I'm just going to pretend you never said any of this.

Indeed he does...

With all jokes aside, I say the Vita is going to do well, just like the psp maybe even better. That's right people the psp is a success, after all it sold a lot of consoles!

Top dowm sirely exists but i dont think sonu is currently able to deliver it. Ms probably is capable but they loathe the indie devs and small games. On the other hand thier konect games do reflect the quality of their beand...
i mean ive been talking about the playstation suite idea for a few uears now and it jist doeant seem like they can handle these kinds of new ideas.
Not extending their contract with thaygamecompany is a rwflection of this.

And top fown isnt really about high priced hardware. Its about taking a brand and using it to introduce a more expanded audience type product. Sonys brand of games isbut i think the first mistake is not literally brading their games.. if they want to extend the brand downwards they need yo first make games that are synonymous with playstation. Uncharted, while being exclusive is not necessarily playstation.
a counter example would be wii sports or wii fit. These are branded games.
