Forums - General - What's your favorite things?

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things!

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things!

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eye lashes
Silver white winters that melt into spring
These are a few of my favorite things!

That's pretty much it. I'll edit this later if I can think of anymore.

Video games, football, handegg and last, but not least: trolling.

How about this. America the Great will recognize the Metric system and use it fully as long as the rest of the world recognizes Football as the NFL and Soccer for what it is... soccer.

Agreed?

That would be beyond idiotic. Just think of the consequences: The basics of football would be to gain 9,144 meters on four downs and everybody would be wondering why Americans chose such an odd distance. Although admittedly, this idiocy would go hand in hand with calling a sport that is played with your hands "football". Additionally, it's not even a ball.

So honestly, this wouldn't be a good deal for you Americans. Your reputation in the world still hasn't fully recovered after you re-elected George W. Bush.

My offer was American in nature. Basically, we'd define the terms and then decide how to really implement them later. So, we'd still use the standard system in anything we wanted to continue to do so but, you'd be sued to death for calling Soccer anything but.

I didn't vote for Bush either time and I almost moved out in 2004.

Also, the most points scored in football are from kicking the BALL.

Why is handegg even called football? It doesn't make any sense :-S

On a few occasions the egg does get kicked, so with some, or rather a lot of imagination you can call it football.

The ball is kicked a lot. From punting, to kick offs, to scoring. In fact, the highest individual scorers in the league or team are often the kicker.

Track and socializing sounds very life like to me.

Myself.

Nothing else is comparable.

If you look at the Chicago area, you will see that most of us didn't vote for Bush.  :p
