By the way, does anyone here have an Origin account for the PC version? It would be nice to set up games with fellow VGC players

I do (same as user ID), although I haven't played it much and I suck pretty bad on anything but Bronze. I've only got one character (Human Vangaurd) and haven't really given any of the other classes a go yet.

The Vanguard is an insane class when you've got a bit more practice in it. I have an Asari one at level 20, mostly because I levelled her much faster than any other class that I tried.

I'm going to try to win those Commendation packs. The Victory pack for 1 million Brutes should be easily achieved by the community, as in almost two weeks, over a billion Phantoms have been killed in the MP, given the latests MP statistics by EA.

Wait what's all this about?

Read about operation Goliath. Basically if you can do a sucessful extraction on a Silver or higher mission against reaper enemies, you can win a comendation pack, which has one of the CE N7 weapons for MP. Also if the community manages to kill 1M brutes during this event, everybody gets a Victory pack, which contents have not been divulged yet.

All prizes can be unlocked starting tuesday on the MP store.

Ok yeah saw that. And yeah getting a million brutes killed in 3 days is going to be a piece of cake. I'm sure the ME3 community has already reached that number.

BTW I finally finished the campaign (about 38 hours playtime) but I honestly can't see why people are hating the game/ending so much. The ending didn't let me down at all. Sure there are plot inconsistancies here and there throughout the 3 games and ME3 has a bunch of rather annoying glitches and ways of doing things but overall I am completely satisfied with the game. Although I still do have questions that I hope are answered in future DLC....even though Shephard being dead makes future DLC's seem pointless.

Alas, the thing is....Shepard isn't dead

At least not on the Destroy ending, if you get enough EMS to get the best ending (5000).

That's true, I didn't take into account the other option where Shephard doesn't die, I did the option of wiping out all synthetic life. And I got the best possible ending with a total score of 5,800 or thereabouts. Still though, I'm not sure if future DLC would make much sense.

I agree, DLC set in future events, or full fledged ME games would not make sense. Any DLC will be either during the events of ME3 or right before (in those six months period between ME2 and ME3).

The game was excellent until the last 15 minutes. The "endings" were a joke.

Hey hey hey HEY HEY.

The conversation with Anderson is perfect. It's just everything after that damn magic elevator.

Nonsense. The entirety of his speech there, as well as the Reaper you take down on Rannoch, are completely on point. They say their goals and motivations are beyond our understanding. They are completely correct.

Sorry, is this sarcasm? It has to be sarcasm.

Not at all! I read/saw the ending before playing the game, just saw the ending in context, and I'm not ashamed to admit that their entire scheme still is beyond my ken. My feeble mortal brain must simply be inadequate to the task of understanding the nuances of it all.

Speaking of, just beat the game. Context did not, in fact, make it even a little better. I'm going to guess that they ran out of time, money, interest, or all of the above, because it really is just a series of non-sequitirs. Ones which introduce gaping plot holes, no less. The funny part is that, given the circumstances, I would have preferred a KOTOR II-esque ending, since even a paragraph's worth of closure is better than nuttin'.

I only regret shooting that last Marauder. Or should I say that last Martyr. The entire time I thought he was my foe, when in fact he was just risking his life to save me from disappointment and apathy.

Ok, so you are kidding.

Also, it's pretty clear they ran out of time from this making-of thing Keighley did, they still had a ton of unfinished ideas in November and so they just threw some shit together and sold it to people.

No one commented on my song post!

Nope they botched that too. The original version was better. They cut a lot of dialog from that. Marauder Shields tried to save us. We should have listened.

Damn the "original version", the experience I had in listening to that was before I ever heard any "original version". It was perfect, just the way it was. Not too long. Not too short. Perfectly poignant.

SHepard's "What do you need me to do?" when Hackett calls is also excellent, particularly when Hale delivers it. God, you can hear how tired Shepard is, so tired and determined and ready to die to end it

What, three+ months aren't enough time to make something better than what we got? I'm not offended by the end result, or that the illusion of choice gets stripped away. Even the bullshit the creators had been spewing before (and now after) the game's release mean little more to me than that another company loves their PR talk. These things don't thrill me, but I wouldn't have minded these things so much.

I'm just annoyed that the game's higher-ups figured that having me/you/us write the ending for them was a good idea. That's... not kosher, especially when said ending rejects some of the established rules of the universe and the game throws an out-of-nowhere curveball at the (almost literal) final second. It's like watching a great running back break through the line, stiff-arm a corner, juke the safety, dash to the one yard line with no time left and the game on the line...then stop, say "fuck it," drop the ball short of the end zone and walk off the field.

It makes noname sad. Worse for Bioware, it makes me apathetic towards the game, and therefore its upcoming DLC.

Of course, I doubt most purchasers ever beat the game, so it's ultimately a moot point!
