I voted for Kansas City. Was a big fan of the Royals when I was younger and they've sucked since the days of George Brett and Bret Saberhagen.

When I was a kid, nothing made my day more than when I found either a George Brett or a Ken Griffey Jr. Card when I bought a pack of cards from the local gas station with all my pennies.


George Brett.  The only player in history to have five hits in three consecutive games.  Also, he was the only player to win a batting title in three different decades.  And yes, Griffey was also a great player.

how do you guys see the offseason shaping up? i don't think the moves the padres made are going to really make much of a difference, and i think the cubs will actually compete for the nl central with their prospects emerging.

That is literally the only reason they would make it ! :P

 

Seriously though, they are at least doing better than ....the last five years I have lived in Illinois!

 

I am going for Kansas City.

Yeah, the Cubs have been awful for the last several years, but actually are still in it which makes me cautiously happy.

KC has a very good shot to win it all.  They and the Cardinals have to be the favorites.  Could it be the 1985 World Series all over again?
