Forums - Gaming Discussion - Promoting Mass Effect 3

Why does EA/BioWare keep shoving the male Commander Shepard down my throat? I thought it had been decided in a contest a few months back that the red-haired female Shepard was going to be on all the Mass Effect 3 stuff. And yet here's the male Shepard in all the trailers and advertisements, on the game box, etc.

I don't know about you guys, but I practically never use the male Commander Shepard. I can't stand his voice actor, and I just feel like a female is more fitting for Mass Effect's protagonist for some strange reason.

What you should be asking is, why are they not putting the Prothean squad member/mission on the disc and why is it launch DLC. BioWare and EA really suck balls.

Technically, it's on the disc and it's available for free for those who pay for the CE. While I don't support the move, they do have some incentives to get the CE over the normal edition, the Prothean squad member/mission is just one of those, though they should have done it like they did for Zaeed on ME2.

Current PC Build

Meh, Bioware hasn't been the same since KOTOR on Xbox.

Not a big fan fan liked ME1 (not great but good) hated ME2 but the ME3 trailers look pretty decent so I guess I'll try it out.

Is it on the standard edition disc? If so, then it' even worse...

What I want to know is why they haven't released any footage of Tali. It's seriously making me angry.

Maybe they're going to omit all the romance options. Like they did from 2 from 1.

Yes it is, but with a difference. The Protean member is one the main standard edition disc as a NPC only, to make it a playable character, it's either with the DLC or the CE.

I don't agree with the move at all, basically because it's a dick move.

In the collectors edition won't they give you a code with cerberus network.

This is what they said.

“It takes about 3 months from “content complete” to bug-fix, certify, manufacture, and ship game discs. In that time we work on DLC.”

“On [Mass Effect 3], content creators completed the game in January & moved onto the “From Ashes” DLC, free w/ the [Collector’s Edition] or you can buy seperately.”

“DLC has fast [certification] and no [manufacturing]., so if a team works very hard, they can get a DLC done in time to enjoy it with your 1st playthrough on day 1.”

I agree Day 1 DLC is kind of a dick move, but they're doing it because they can. And ultimately a lot, of dev/publishers research what they can get away with to maximize their profits.
