I think it definitely has a good chance. VITA comes with a built in mic, it can do Cross game chat and it's capable of cross-platform play online (with PS3). This needs to be a focus point on the marketing for COD on Vita. Most casual gamers (The COD and Madden/FIFA bro type) go into a store and pick them up, all SONY needs to do is get that bitch in stores on PSVITAS so the bros can see it on that sexy OLED screen and play it for themselves.
2-3 million maximum, unless it's well-designed to provide something distinct from the console experience that is also compelling

I think it's pretty much guaranteed that this will be either a brand new CoD only for Vita, or something with full cross-play with PS3- the developers are very excited about it.

they only way this will have a real big impact is if its Black Ops 2.. ONLY on Vita. while everything else gets a different new cod game..

I dunno...CoD was on the DS and it didn't really sell that well. If this is a 1:1 port of its PS3 brother then yeah I can see it selling in the millions. But I mean absolute 1:1 no features omitted unlike with MLB The Show, Modnations and Fifa Soccer.
Even though its too early to say, my guess is that if they release it this year then I'd expect 1~2m
Next year could be 2~3m
if it comes this fall it may be tied to this years console COD release.
if the Vita version supports online play vs console this could sell very well.

Portable vs. Console mode should just be called "Rape the guy using the Vita" mode. No L3/R3 and no second set of shoulder buttons AND a much smaller screen?
