Forums - Sony - Call of Duty Vita: The true "game changer" in the West / Prediction Thread

Call of Duty on the Vita has the potential to be really g ood, or really bad, but it depends on how Sony/Activision handles it.

A COD PS3 port on the Vita sounds like a bad idea, like someone else said, why get it on the Vita when you can get it on the PS3/360. It will also be harder for guys playing on the Vita. Cross game play is nice, but Vita guys will have a major disadvantage.

On the other hand, an exclusive COD on the Vita that uses the Vita's features to its advantage, similar to that COD game on the PSP will do better. All Sony needs are bundles, and proper marketing.

One thing that nobody went into detail about is COD on the 3DS. COD4, and WaW did pretty well to be on the DS, so it wouldn't surprise me if COD was on the 3DS this year.

7 million easy. I just finished Uncharted Golden Abyss and got over 200 head shots in my first playthrough. The combo of analog sticks and gyroscopic aiming make it work better than on PS3, atleastt for me. If COD Vita can have this same advantage it could keep the playing field very balanced. Plus hardcore gamerrs could spend even more time playing.

Everyone will love it, as long as Sony markets it.

i dont think there will even be 7million Vitas by the time this comes out

I Expect Cod Vita to sell >3M or more.

I Expect it to bump Vita Sales in USA on Both November and December, also in Europe, Canada and Latin america aswell MEA.

Wont make any difference in Japan.

If it really turns out popular, then CoD Vita could sell them hundreds of thousands of Vitas :o

That's the problem.  Don't think.  Just B_E_L_I_E_V_E.  Of course, I don't believe that shooting computer controlled enemies will be comparable to shooting real people with human AI.  Then again, I don't have my Vita yet.  I may be singing a different tune next week.

In case you still haven't checked:

And that was, like I said earlier, about the same time as Call of Duty 4 released!

Impossible to tell until they reveal it. If it's a console port with 'handheld features' I'm iffy - but could still see it being quite big. I mean the sheer marketing of having a COD will sell Vita's, some people will simply want it and buy them without really thinking about whether it's worth it.

If it's going to huge though it really needs to be careful with how it implements its design. Obviously it can do the epic single player thing with touch bits and whatnot, but it needs some sort of 'hook' like the console version has online gaming. I really don't see the point in playing COD online on a handheld, so instead I hope they go down some sort of co-op fleshed out Spec Ops Ad-Hoc thing. Monster Hunter, from what I've learnt, was huge in Japan cause it had the Ad-Hoc thing going where you'd just get on a train, and do some monster hunting with whoever was near or whatever. COD could get the same sort of thing going in the US, especially as the Vita has all the GPS / Near / 3g hotspot type features going now too.

It's an interesting one and I'm really iffy on how it'll pan out.

I don't think this is going to be a great idea, but a good idea and gamers will buy, but it won't be a best seller...
Lets see how they make this game out...
I guess they saw Kill Zone and said we can port it too....

Am i the only one that expects this call of duty to be a port of the current Call of duty that will come out?

It most certainly will sell less than 100k. Why would anyone in their perfect mind pick the Vita copy over the PS3/360/PC version?
Its about the same thing as the Wii version of CoD.

I'm pretty sure Sony is beeing purposely vague about it so try and generate some hype.

No way would activision develop and exclusive game for the Vita unless the system sales pick up in the west, wich isnt expectable.
