i compare all my games via the generation.
skyrim is just better on all fronts... when orcarina of time game out it was basically the only open world RPG style game, but times have changed and it feels like nintendo is stuck in the video game version of the stone age.

10.

I've written about it before, so I'll just do a short explanation. It has the best fighting mechanisms I've ever seen in a game, and the best controls. It also has some of the most clever and brilliant visuals in the game. There are very few games in which I've repeatedly stopped and just looked around thinking "Wow, this is absolutely gorgeous". The only ones are probably Ocarina of Time, Half-Life 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Portal 2 and Skyward Sword. Out of those, I dare say that Skyward Sword was possibly the one I enjoyed the most visually and atmospherically.

Additionally, it had stunning music. It's nowhere near the musical match of Ocarina of Time or Super Mario Galaxy, but it's still brilliant. Several of its pieces are  on the list of music I can listen to when I'm down and it'll bring me right up again.

Finally, I really loved the characters and and story. The story itself is nice, but not amazing. The characters, however, are downright brilliant. Link himself is incredibly cute, and slightly helpless, to the extent that it makes for great humour. Zelda is, especially at the start, possibly my favourite female character in a video game yet. Groose is also fantastic, and pretty much the entire cast is memorable in one way or another.

Overall, best gameplay yet, top notch music, great story, fantastic characters and downright amazing visuals and atmosphere. It doesn't get much better than that. Probably my second favourite game of all time, and definitely in the top 5.

Which is low considering it's a Zelda game. Reasons:

-It didn't have the great free-roaming (I think that's the english name for it) Hyrule landscape
-It didn't have the huge Wind Waker ocean
-It didn't have the transformation masks of Majora's Mask
-It didn't have the classic different theme-based levels (water, fire, forest, sand etc.)
-It didn't have any uniqueness aside from not being unique
-It didn't have Ganondorf
-It did have fi

It's up to you to decide which of these points that are valid.

It had Demise. Who was pretty much the same dude. I never beat the game though...

8. Essentially the worse Zelda I've played (LTTP, Ocarina, MM, WW, TP, Zelda II rated a, 9.5,10,9.5,8,8.5,? respectively), apart from Zelda II, and maybe WW.  I'm fond of it for whatever reason. Despite all this it's still a great game. I haven't played any of the HH Zelda's.

Pro's
The graphics artstyle is pretty.
-The best use of motion controls I've seen.
-Bossfights with new controls. Some are really fun.
-It's Zelda so it can't be bad :D.

Con's
-The Prompts that interrupt the game play. With text, it's way more annoying than navi. I'm not saying that I want voice acting in zelda, but when you go by someone, and they say something with a VA it's better than being stopped with a text prompt. The way it's implemented is just annoying. And the gibberish that comes out, is just not particularly charming. They don't need to mumble for the dialogue to be charming.
-Link looks like a douchebag when he holds his sword out.
-Recycled Environments. Not a big issue, FFXIII-2 did this, and so did dragon age 2, and Majora's Mask Recycled a lot of character models and renamed them something else...It's not worse than some games in that department, but still a con.
-I still would have rather not used motion controls. Some of the movements are still innacurate, and I'm not a fan of motion controls in general. My favorite wii game being xenoblade, and Punch Out.
-Not quite open enough.

Don't get me wrong I think it's a great game Hence why I've given it an 8. I've only given 1 or 2 games a 9.5 this gen. 4 or 5 a 9.

Wow, that's some interesting read. Thanks man!

9/10

+ Swordplay

+ Skyward Strike

+ Ghost Ship

+ Timeshift Stones

+ Fun bosses

- No real overworld

- Skyloft

- Lack of magic bar (and magic items)

- Only one tunic

- Ghirahim and Fi

- Princess Zelda's design, I hope Sakurai don't use this design for the next Smash

- Repetitive areas, even the final dungeon reuses the same shit

- Forced motions controls (flying, skydiving, minigames)

Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

I love it a crazy amount. Although I don't think it's the Wii's best game, I think it falls behind both Mario Galaxy games. mario Galaxy 2 is probably my favourite non-RPG ever.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
