Are there good platform games on other systems? I am sure.
Are they better quality than Nintendo platform games? Probably not
Well after reading this thread I am more convinced then ever that Nintendo is king of plat formers.platformers Also while I would recognize XBLA titles I would consider LiveArcade as an in dependant platform like WiiWare. You can hardly count downloadable titles in the same category as retail the quality difference is often huge.

Wow Rol's on a role. Totally right! Quantity wise Nintendo is not king but most people when they say king they are referring to the best console to purchase for a particular genre and Nintendo's consoles have always been the platformers kings.
As for beating NSMBWii in 6 hours that would need to be a rush job and you would have missed levels. Were not talking side quests or achievements we are talking full blown levels you just skipped. Even if you don't include the final unlock able levels your talking a good 9 or so hours of play assuming you aren't rushing with a guide.

6 hours was a stretch. probably more like 5 1/2 hours. The game is just too easy, died very rarely and you get so many extra lives that it's almost impossible to get a game over screen (you probably can still continue afterwards, but that's just a guess based on a friend who dies a LOT of times).
I'm sure as hell no pro in Mario games. Only Mario game I completed was Super Mario Land some 10 years ago.
Haven't personally seen any levels that could be beaten after I finished the game, but even if there was a whole world, it would never take another 3 hours to play through all of them.
But hey I'm gonna check it out soon to see if there are any uncompleted levels left. I'd be happy because the game is really good.
