Forums - Gaming - EA brings DLC to Mass Effect 3 ahead of launch

I don't really see this as a big deal. Annoying nonetheless, I mean, I wish every game was free. But it's going to continue if it continues to bring the publishers extra money, and if there's enough people that are pissed off about it it will hurt EA. It's risk/reward.

Mass Effect 2 w/o the DLC was one of my top 10 favorite games this generation. Thus it completely warrants the purchase for me. Do I wish the DLC was included in the game? Certainly. I've only boughten 3 DLC my whole life the Deus Ex one, Overlord, And Shadow Broker. But, at that token, Even if it is considered incomplete, I find it better than 90%+ other games.

If you don't like the game that much and this really bugs you, it will hurt EA's sales and maybe they'll realize this and quit it. If you bitch about it and still buy it, then obviously they don't care, they just want your money.

And note I've been a primarily a PC gamer since I was a 5, my first console was a PS2. (I'm 24)

This, I find it hilarious that a mostly Ninty player is griping about DLC, are there any games on Wii that even have DLC??? Are any of them good?? PC players, i can see why they would scoff at it.

I'm griping about it because I don't want it on a Nintendo system.  I even made a thread about that I hope Nintendo never has paid DLC awhile back.  However, they are already talking about it for FE on 3DS.  Not sure if they are charging or if it is free.  I'll take free DLC but I won't pay for it. Nintendo offered free DLC on the Wii through some of their games (Animal Crossing, Brawl (they later stopped giving levels), and a few other games)).  I believe Guiatar Hero was one of the few games on Wii to offer paid DLC.  There was talk about CoD:BO but luckily it never happened.  I have BO (Wii) and I was one of the few that didn't want to see it on the system on their forums.

Hehe! Just one more thing you won't be able to bitch 'bout in the future.

I bought Dragon Age Origins with the DLC included in the Ultimate collection, being PS3 I did that as well with Mass effect 2. The extra content for these games was nice to have but pointless to a degree. Yet Dragon Age Origins extra content was mostly self contained stories and extra gameplay, not just added missions to a list. That kind of DLC is the stuff I want. Most of Mass Effect 2's extra stuff was just filler missions.

At least it's not as bad as Marvel vs Capcom 3, extra characters from the release, why didn't they jsut release them with the game. They'd now done a Ultimate version with all the characters at only £25 anyway. This was pointless.

Hmm, pie.

When did EA publish Portal 2 anywhere? Did Valve go through them for the console versions?

You're right. I assued it was EA because it was one of the games I bought on Origins, but was never sent.

Now I can rest easy and buy Portal 2. Thank you.

Still, no battlefield or dead space anymore EA.

Buy it on Steam like God intended.

Don't have a PC capable of running it. My PC is 10 years old, and my laptop is linux (fried motherboard won't let me run windows).

What is with all the hate? Don't read GamrReview Articles. Contact me to ADD games to the Database

Not really bothered by this too be honest, I'll just get the extra stuff with the collectors edition, and come back after a year orso to buy the good DLC (Like the Shadow Broker)

Those greedy bastards... Is it really so hard to keep all the content on one (or even several...) disc(s)?

This is a new sick part of the gaming industry that I pray to myself that Nintendo's games will stay out of forever. Iwata said that they will, but he talks a lot...

I think that DLC becomes a problem when it could be included in the original game, like in this case. If not, DLC can actually be great for the fans and the industry. The artists should be proud of their product first and foremost, before thinking of maximising profit.
