That's untrue. I started in the third gen myself and I'm not offended by DLC at all, so long as it is a supplement to a full and rich experience - like ME2's DLC was. Most DLC buyers are our age or older, I would think.

Yea, well those are HD consoles owners mainly.  Ask any Nintendo only or most PC gamers I assume don't have favorable view of DLC.  What DLC is a publisher wanting extra money.  Instead of including a level creator or something like that they decide to sell it.  Users can create better content than most developers.  Don't believe me? Then go to CivFanatics and check out some scenarios for all the Civ games.  The top user made scenarios either match or trump anything that the developers of the game can put out.  I see DLC as a rip off because I am used to user made content.  Sorry just how I feel and it will never change because I know how much the users can create with what little the developer usually gives them to create with.

You're not being very convincing, here. I'm primarily a Nintendo gamer - and PC gamer, alternatively - myself.

You have never gotten the right piece of DLC put into your lap. That's fine. You might one day, though. One has to be careful about how one uses the word "never".

This, I find it hilarious that a mostly Ninty player is griping about DLC, are there any games on Wii that even have DLC??? Are any of them good?? PC players, i can see why they would scoff at it.

Okay I just see the DLC as way to rip gamers off. Me being an old school PC gamer what did I buy when I wanted more experience from a game? It was called an expansion. Turns out I believe they offered way more value (added content) in most expansions that were released for the major games (Blizzard expansions). What do they do now? They nickel and dime you to death. Instead of having it all grouped in one (yes there are some that group it together) they split it all up. 2 dollars for different clothes , 5 dollars for a whatever, etc..

You are right I am sure there are DLC that acts more like an actual expansion than just a few extra crap. Anyways, my main bitch point is day 1 DLC is just retarded.

ME2 came with day 1 DLC, too, but it was free to new buyers. We'll see how this actually turns out before we go off the deep end about it, yeah?

I'm griping about it because I don't want it on a Nintendo system.  I even made a thread about that I hope Nintendo never has paid DLC awhile back.  However, they are already talking about it for FE on 3DS.  Not sure if they are charging or if it is free.  I'll take free DLC but I won't pay for it. Nintendo offered free DLC on the Wii through some of their games (Animal Crossing, Brawl (they later stopped giving levels), and a few other games)).  I believe Guiatar Hero was one of the few games on Wii to offer paid DLC.  There was talk about CoD:BO but luckily it never happened.  I have BO (Wii) and I was one of the few that didn't want to see it on the system on their forums.

Oh man... I might miss out on a few good games that EA publishes because of my long standing boycott but their business practices make me sick. They were shaping up or so I thought but with all the recent news about how they treat their consumers makes me never want to lift my boycott.

EA didn;t ship out an order of mine that I made on Black Friday and didn't honor the discounted price it was available for either, that was the last straw for me. I'm still getting Mass Effect 3 because I love the franchise, and I'll likely get Portal 2 someday, but that's it. EA doesn't get my $$$ anymore, not unless they buy out a AAA franchise (like Mass Effect) and even then I will be looking at getting it used to cut their profits.

EA is pitiful.

When did EA publish Portal 2 anywhere? Did Valve go through them for the console versions?

You're right. I assued it was EA because it was one of the games I bought on Origins, but was never sent.

Now I can rest easy and buy Portal 2. Thank you.

Still, no battlefield or dead space anymore EA.

Let's just hope it's not as bad a Versus Mode for RE6. Was not free for new game owners, was on disk, and available day 1.

Well looks like your getting it, Even if Ninty doesnt do it for there games (they might) the 3rd party games will surely have it. YOu can get down wtih it, or stick to PC. I still think you're coming from this with a kind of blind ignorance. You've never experienced it for yourself, so your not really justified in saying its "evil".  Some of it sucks, Capcom is probably the biggest offender, some are actually really good and add to the game. GTA4 expansions for one example

The DLC that are actual expansions I don't see any problem with.  It is just some of the practices that really piss me off.  Even though Capcom is probably one of the few third party publishers I still support they really turned me off from DLC with some of their practices such as with SF4.    I believe that is where most of the bad rep comes from for me.  I also don't like the idea of day 1 paid DLC.

I dont think anyone likes day 1 DLC content, and Capcom is just a bunch of greedy freaks, IMHO. Despite their fighting games stilll being good

The only advice I can give is support the DLC you think is good, and say to hell with the ones you think are useless. I love SF4 but i just didnt support the DLC, hell I just got the Arcade add-on and I only did that cause it was on sale (its actually , a pretty good expansion)
