I have a feeling this stuff will be crappy and pointless. Shouldn't bother anyone but the most obsessive of gamers who feel they have to pick it up.

I cant hate on EA too much, because they are responsible for getting the series on the PS3, didnt have to update my laptop or get 360, but this is lame as hell

I really dont see the point in you saying you have more gaming experience than me that means nothing in this conversation. I know people who are my same age and think differently about dlc tha me. I mean really mass effect 2 had good dlc and i expect 3 to follow. Also I never tried to influecne you I just gave my opinion.

What I meant was the younger generation accepts DLC more. The old guard usually doesn't like DLC. When I mean old guard I mean those that started on Atari 2600 or NES not PS1, PS2 or xbox.

That's untrue. I started in the third gen myself and I'm not offended by DLC at all, so long as it is a supplement to a full and rich experience - like ME2's DLC was. Most DLC buyers are our age or older, I would think.

Yea, well those are HD consoles owners mainly. Ask any Nintendo only or most PC gamers I assume don't have favorable view of DLC. What DLC is a publisher wanting extra money. Instead of including a level creator or something like that they decide to sell it. Users can create better content than most developers. Don't believe me? Then go to CivFanatics and check out some scenarios for all the Civ games. The top user made scenarios either match or trump anything that the developers of the game can put out. I see DLC as a rip off because I am used to user made content. Sorry just how I feel and it will never change because I know how much the users can create with what little the developer usually gives them to create with.

You're not being very convincing, here. I'm primarily a Nintendo gamer - and PC gamer, alternatively - myself.
You have never gotten the right piece of DLC put into your lap. That's fine. You might one day, though. One has to be careful about how one uses the word "never".

They were shaping up or so I thought but with all the recent news about how they treat their consumers makes me never want to lift my boycott. |
EA didn;t ship out an order of mine that I made on Black Friday and didn't honor the discounted price it was available for either, that was the last straw for me. I'm still getting Mass Effect 3 because I love the franchise, and I'll likely get Portal 2 someday, but that's it. EA doesn't get my $$$ anymore, not unless they buy out a AAA franchise (like Mass Effect) and even then I will be looking at getting it used to cut their profits.
EA is pitiful.
What is with all the hate? Don't read GamrReview Articles. Contact me to ADD games to the Database

When did EA publish Portal 2 anywhere? Did Valve go through them for the console versions?
Okay I just see the DLC as way to rip gamers off. Me being an old school PC gamer what did I buy when I wanted more experience from a game? It was called an expansion. Turns out I believe they offered way more value (added content) in most expansions that were released for the major games (Blizzard expansions). What do they do now? They nickel and dime you to death. Instead of having it all grouped in one (yes there are some that group it together) they split it all up. 2 dollars for different clothes , 5 dollars for a whatever, etc..
You are right I am sure there are DLC that acts more like an actual expansion than just a few extra crap. Anyways, my main bitch point is day 1 DLC is just a scam plain and simple.
