True gamers will of course pick Nintendo systems first, because that's where all the real games are.

PS3 > DS > PSP > 360 > everything else for me.

The games that I wanted (mostly jrpgs) can be found on these 4 consoles,

PS3 -> Folklore, Demon' Souls, LBP
DS -> FFTA2, FF remakes, other SE games
PSP -> Kingdom Hearts BBS, FF Crisis Core, Jean D' Arc, other SE tactics games
360 -> 360 barely made it but I really enjoyed Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odyssey (Fable 2 and 3 as well) when the PS3 was still getting its shit together.

great, cause beating a happydolphine is perfecly justifiable

I am going to only give my opinion for mobile gaming and with that I would have to say the PSVita easily.

I have owned countless handheld devices but one thing always bugged me about them all and that was a lack of proper controls across all types of games, whether they be shooters, rpgs, point and click, etc...

I am one who loves emulation and old school gaming and always wanted my PS1 JRPGs on the go and the closest I got to that was the PSP and my Galaxy S smartphone. Problem with the PSP was the lack of a 2nd analog and the problem with the phone was lack of proper buttons, because touching the screen sucks due to blocking off a portion of what you're trying to look at.

The PSVita is like a dream come true for me, which is why I want it.

I want to mod it.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

PC.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

4 me PC is the machine... but i don't play much PC as i would like... need to build a new rig... i only own a PS3, so that is my main gaming device. have a android phone that i use to play angry birds in the can but i don't really consider that gaming.

I would definitely put PC in first place.

  • A fantastic and free online service in Steam, which sells practically every game that is released on PC at reasonable prices
  • An enormous backlog going back three decades; it's all playable
  • The most power, so, naturally, the best performance
  • Most games can be played with a gamepad if you so wish, whereas it's a very rare console game that allows you to use KB+M

Naturally, the consoles have their advantages - they are cheaper, easier to set up and play, and have a fair few very high-quality exclusives, but I would choose the PC over any of them.

I'm not going to objectively rank any of the consoles beyond there, because that could get messy very quickly, but I would personally say that PS3 > 360 > Wii only because that's the order in which I like the game libraries of each console. And in general, I prefer consoles to handhelds (limited battery, not enough buttons, and a tiny screen >_< )

Real gamers play games 1h+ per day and most Nintendo systems end up as dustmagnets in the closet after a month anyway, so what you say can't possibly be true.

Maybe, but even you have to admit that every Nintendo system is used to play games at least at one point, unlike a PS3 which is a Blu-ray player that can also browse the internet.

I heard of many who used the Wii solely as a bookstand

Literate Wii users? You think you've seen everything...

(obviously a joke)
