Forums - Microsoft - OXM: Project Gotham 5 Launching With Next Xbox

Bizarre Creations, the team who developed all of the previous games in the series has since gone belly up and at the time was owned by Activision, so Microsoft would have to find a completely different developer.

Um ... unless MGS hires out key development staff from Bizarre Creations and has them develop the game.  Which wouldn't be far fetched at all.

I personally am curious about the future of racing games.  This one needs more than just shiny new graphics to impress.  Oh who am I kidding.  If it's a launch game it'll sell no matter what ...

When it comes to Racing :

PGR > RallySport >>> ALL

No one can touch Microsoft 1st party racing games. Too bad they dont make them anymore.

do you mean rallisport challenge series? omg i loved this series! most fun i ever had in a rally game! i really like dirt and so on but that was a league above for me if it comes to fun.

and pgr was nice as well yes! i have the platinum champion achievement in pgr3 and thats the game with my most "true" points on trueachievements.com :)

PGR4 is my favourite arcade racer of this gen.
sry GRID, you're only on position 2 :)

Well this wouldn't surprise me though that quote hardly seems to confirm just hint at it. If PGR5 is a launch title and its been leaked this early through Box's official magazine then it really leads me to think a winter 2012 launch may very well still be in the cards. We don't even know an official Nintendo launch title for WiiU and that console has already been unveiled and coming this winter.

I suspect if this is true then their is a very good chance nextbox will still launch later this year. The launch simply makes the most sense. Though I am less confident the launch will be this winter then I was a few months ago. I remain very skeptical of Microsoft's denial. I don't think it is in their best interest to wait till winter 2013. Whether or not they are competing with Nintendo a year head start on Sony is still in their best interest. PGR5 would also be a great launch title.

Makes sense. Since there were rumors of Turn 10 doing the game themselves a while back.

Turn 10 gets its first crack at next Xbox with PGR 5.

After learning the basic ins and outs of next xbox, put their experience towards Forza 5. Makes total sense.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

PGR4 so far is my favorite racing game this gen (even of Forza 3, but Forza 4 might take the cake.) so I hope so.

I don't see how they can't get a new studio to do it well, or hire back some of the old team.

It's just that simple.

That would be very welcomed

I've loved the Project Gotham Racing series ever since Metropolis Street Racer on thje Dreamcast so I hope this is true!

Man MS had the racing game fans in the bag with the PGR and Forza series. There was no other place to go besides 360 for racing, PGR for arcade fun and Forza for the crazy realism. They should defo run the two series in parallel.

PGR made me buy an Xbox, I wanted to wait for a while this time before getting a new console. Bad news :)
Throw in a new Burnout and I'll have to be an early adopter again.
