I have it. So far, I'm just missing SC4. Need Seung Mina and Talim again.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

My copy of Soul Cal 4 still has the "Do not sell befor 7/29/08" sticker on the top of it. I got it on day 1 since I was a HUGE Soul Calibur fan at the time. Soul Blade was the third PS1 game I ever owned (logged in over 200 hour if I recall). Soul Cal was a beast on the Dreamcast. I got everything there was to get in Soul Cal 2's Edge Master Mode. I built an army in Soul Cal 3.

I don't think I've played Soul Calibur 4 five hours, yet. Something wasn't right with that game. I went from looking at every single trailer and finding every single scrap of info I could on that game to not even wanting to play it when I finally got it. I don't think I'll be getting Soul Calibur 5 any time soon. Like Tekken, Namco went to the well too many times and turned me off to the series (I'll probably buy Tekken on the 3DS, though).

Ya know what? this review is horrible as it docks the hard for story issues. Its fighting game.. Who Cares!

such a huge dissapointment

I've been a huge SC fan since the Soul Blade and i feel sad for deciding not to buy this

they've changed SC so much, towards the bad, killed the epic characters with cheap new ones

this just doesn't feel like SC, the epicness is gone for good

I'm still playing SC3 and SC on the iphone : )

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

THIS IS WHAT YOU GET NAMCO FOR GETTING RID OF TALIM!
With out her I only have Voldo left...

Former something....

Not surprised when you drop series main stays such as Darth Vader and Yoda.

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth." -My good friend Mark Aurelius

Another sub par fighting game that goes alongside aging franchises like: Tekken(Tekken 3 the peak of the series in 1998), Mortal Kombat (MK2/3 peak of the series in the mid 1990s), Dead or Alive(early 2000's), Virtua Fighter(peaked with VF2 in mid 1990s), etc. Those fighting game series were great in their day when fighting games were popular.

Soul Calibur is basically the same game as the previous iterations with little or no improvement in game play mechanics. So what the graphics may look a lot better than before? There is little or no value in purchasing the same game over and over. Soul Calibur is basically Tekken with swords, Tekken stars regularly appear in Soul Calibur games.

Soul Calibur V is for die hard fighting game fans only.

same here exactly, the epicness is gone in SC4 and in SC5 the characters are gone as well, replaced with more cheap ones

seems like SC3 will be remembered as the last game of SC awesomeness

and I miss my Hwang and Mina too:

I'm sure its a good game, i really like sc4, but it will have to take a back seat to the great games of feb and march that i want. By then it will be cheaper.

Looks like relying on boobs to sell the game was the right call.
