I won't assign a number. I'll just say:

360: Easily my most played console this gen. Got it in 2007 and I'm probably getting close to 200 games on it if you count XBL titles. An amazing console by a company I had no faith in whatsoever.   If I could only own one console this gen, the 360 would be it.

Wii: (purchased in 2007) So many unique experiences and so much fun. No other console has given me as many face to face fun social experiences as the Wii. I was born and bred playing side by side with other gamers. I'm afraid that those days may be done with online taking over like it has. I'm glad the Wii gave me so many good memories. I'll cherish them forever.

PS3: (Purchased in 2008) I probably spent more time with my jaw dropped in awe with the PS3 more than any of the other two. When the PS3 was at its best (Heavy Rain, God of War), nothing else mattered. A lot of games that I simply could not play anywhere else makes the PS3 a winner in my book.

Kudos to the "Big 3". My expectations were blown away time and again, this gen. To think, at the end of the sixth gen, I planned on giving up gaming. Now, I'm a bigger gamer than ever.

Thank God we still have gamers like you, and not everyone is a partisan.

You're the perfect gamer.

Well, the poll suggests that at least more than 17% aren't partisan. And I don't think I can see any serious user here who is.

MS got my vote this gen. But only because I decided to buy its slim versions first. (not being able to experience RROD and all)

Sony was excellent this gen aswell. But as an online player. Im kind of disappointed for its exclusives. I bought R3 and KZ3 day one. But now I cant find anyone online.

While Halo 3 and Gears of War 3 really fueled my experience for online gaming. Yup thats right. I said HALO 3. I still find people who are willing to try this game out for the first time despite it being a 2007 game. It remains active.

I also noticed a general skill drop within players. At one point, I had both games on both consoles.. (COD BO). I noticed more quick scopers, campers and better flankers. By playing on XBL, I also noticed the maps moves "Faster". By what I mean is that XBL players exploits the flanks the enemy team. Thus a change in spawn location, thus a change in team flanks. As compared to PSN where flanks barely move a all in TDM. I laso learned how to "Strafe" in XBL. A tactic that I didnt use in PSN.

MS 9.5/10

Sony 6.5/10

Dsont take this score seriously because Im only basing my online experience.

Why do you hate the dualshock o.O?

Because he's using it wrong, he needs to use it like I do.

It's pretty obvious! ;D

MS

First 360 console - terrible for me. Too hot, too loud, too unreliable, no WiFi, terrible disk tray. The largest power brick I briefly considered having in my house before thinking better of it. Good controller and at least they packed in a headset. 4/10

360 Slim - great console. Nice design, good USB placement, quiet, better disk tray, good wifi, smaller power brick (still too big IMHO but at least they tried) and seems very reliable. 9/10

Software - exclusives decent but not enough for me. I know MS pushes safe bet big titles over variety for the most part but I like to risk trying new stuff vs sticking to a few titles. 7/10 (9/10 if you bring in third party efforts).

Controllers - 8.5/10 for their gamepad. Nice to use but drops a point and a half for the D-Pad and the use of batteries with a horribly big and badly positioned (at least for my fingers) battery case. Kinect 7/10. Great device, but for me too limiting for games. Great for voice commands and menu use though. Needs a Wand IMHO to really be useful.

Online - 9.5/10. The gold standard really. Lots of features and a very good service. Stuff like Facebook should be available to Silver though (I say this as a Gold user but I think Silver get's shafted a bit).

Summary - a good gen overall for MS, particularly for me once they got past RROD and the original 360 design.

Sony

Fat PS3 - great console. Nice design, great feature set (I'm basing this on the PS2 compatible versions) and broad support for digital and physical media thanks to the card reader and Blu-Ray. Ran quiet and didn't get too hot. No power brick (trumped even the Wii in that regard). Only negative was it should have had 2 USB at front and 2 at back instead of all 4 to the front. 9.5/10 (I loved my fat PS3 - it was a pity I killed it myself)

Slim PS3 - very good console but oddly I'd argue a step back. Probably saved Sony's bacon but the feature set was cut back and 2 USB is a bit tight really given the amount of other stuff Sony in theory wanted you to hook up to it. Still at least it's quiet and reliable. 8.5/10.

Software - lots of exclusives, some great and some crap but lots of variety. 8.5/10 (9.5/10 if you bring in third party)

Controllers - Sixaxxis was too light and lacked rumble. 8/10. Dualshock 3 corrected all that and remains a better fit for my hand. 9.5/10. Move - works great and seems able to support a variety of gameplay types. 9/10

Online - very good now but not quite matching Live. 8.5/10 (9/10 in if you Plus and use the discounts)

Summary - doing okay now but boy did they start the gen in a terrible way. Pity the fat PS3 with full PS2 support was too costly to make and thereby too costly to afford - because purely as an electronics device it was definitely the best console this gen IMHO (I mean on its own just to be double clear - i.e. purely for what it contained separate from games)

Nintendo (going to make this one shorter)

Wii is a great little console that launched with the best integrated motion control package. Works great and is easy to use. But the online was horribly weak and personally I felt it should have played DVDs. As HD TVs became the norm I also felt it was underpowered vs the resolution of my TV. 8.5/10

Summary - the little console that went big but ran out of steam first.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
