I'm not going to make a very detailed post, great ones by the1 and basilzero. I'm just going to state that I enjoy the most of playing with my friends, I'm a sucker for local multiplayer. I play both casual games, and the ones not so casual. The Wii is just the most suited console for me, bought it without any regret. I can't say the same thing about my PS3, but its ok, I'll find something good for it :).

However, if we are going to rate the companies I must say that Nintendo did a fantastic job, pulling out a decent console that caters a large audience and would be enough for the traditional Nintendo fan. I mean, most people argue that it didn't reach for the support of the 3rd parties, but bs, just look at the Gamecube -.- On the downside, they could've made more games in the late life. But, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they were using all their resources on R&D for the 3DS and the next home console.

Now, about Microsoft. I've never owned one of their consoles, and I don't think I will. But, one must admit that the X360 had an incredible performance compared to the Xbox. The fail rate at the beggining is....just...wrong. But, well, people tell me that most of them were covered with the warranty. Then again, great performance, they are going to have a really solid start for next gen.

At last, Sony. Oh well, one can fell bad for these guys, you know market leaders for two generations, then... well just 'meh'. Its like they could've never existed this gen and pretty much nothing would've been missed. Even Final Fantasy went multiplattform. They are going to have a really hard start for next gen, not really sure how long do they have after Microsoft launches their next console, and not sure if they will have the resources to have a strong launch. So, quite dissapointing performance.

Sorry for using another approach, but as I don't own a x360, and I only have a couple of games for my ps3, my gamer view wouldve been quite biased ;)

ive tried and it just doesnt fit. How on earth do you manage to shove it in...

But to answer the serious question it is because the controller is far too small and the analogs are in a bad position. When i was 8 playing on my playstation one the controller was fine, but now its just uncomfortable to hold. My hands aren't freakishly huge or anything, its just uncomfortable to me.

Fun fact: After changing the thread title to "the three big video game giants" instead of "the big three" the Sony support increased significantly in the poll :P I honestly wonder why..?

Maybe more Sony Fans gravitate to longer names? They should start using that as a marketing stunt.

You also forgot to include that Xbox controllers have built in mic jacks. Resulting n cheap FIRST PARTY mics.

Sony) 8.5

Now, ratings:

Hardware:
Wii: 6/10, I'm not really angry about he lack of HD, but very few features.
PS3: 10/10, hurts to admit it.
360: 8/10, for the early problems.

Software: (My opinion, get over it)
Wii: 9/10, 2006-2010 was very, very good, afterwards, not so much, abysmal third party support. Gamecube still rules
PS3: 8/10, I liked a lot of PS3 exclusives, and the support was excelent.
360: (Bias on) 1/10, not a single exclusive that interests me or I liked. (Bias off)

Online:
Wii: 3/10, no explaination needed.
PS3: 9/10, it was fun playing online.
360: 5/10, it may have been better, but I wouldn't waste a cent on paying for online.

Classic Controller:
Wii: 8/10, comfortable, but doesn't support GC.
PS3: 7/10, classic.
360: 4/10, uncomfortable.

Motion:
Wii: 8/10, creative, WM+ didn't get support.
PS3: 7/10, pretty cool.
360: 4/10, fun, gets cheesy after a short while.

Overall: (Not an average)
Wii: 7.5/10 (A ton of potential, but Nintendo killed it)
PS3: 7/10 (A ton of efford from Sony)
360: 2/10 (Maybe it's because of the too-western appeal, but I totally dislike the 360 and the whole library)
