tell me when the real next gen consoles come out.

Being that it is rumored that Microsoft's next system is "only" 6 times as powerful as the XBox 360 (and that would put them roughly in the range of the Wii U's performance), and Sony needs to keep costs associated to releasing a console way down which will probably translate into a pretty modest technology bump, depending on what you mean by "real next gen console" you could be waiting a very long time

What you just wrote does not make sense to ignorant people. For ignorant people 20% more power than WiiU is exactly enough for it to be next gen. anything less and its current gen!

"With this, for example, the ease of using a video game system when the hardware is shared by multiple family members, which has been a challenge we needed to tackle, shall be improved, and we will also be able to construct and offer the system by combining a variety of different services and content."

That's a lot of words without really saying anything.

it says nintendo realizes that sony and especially MS had good ideas and they need to copy them to stay relavent.

OT - ton?  you need a dictionary 'cause there's nothing new here.

Oops, wrong thread.

At this meeting they also announced a new function for the Tablet Controller. They are adding NFC to the controller to allow for credit payments (the credit cards that you hold an inch off the reader and it reads an RF chip in the card) and for functionality similar to the Skylanders game.

Yeah it seems like they are taking their philophy with the DS (Throw in everything but the kitchen sink) and bringing it to the console side of things.

Also it sounds like on the network side of things finally dusting off what they had with the SNES in Japan, which was simular to Xbox Live. (Hopeful thinking on my part.)

I interpret it more like this; "In other words, we are making a system that is exactly like the one you've found on the HD consoles since they launched."

I'm very happy that Nintendo have finally come aound to the idea of being flexible on online solutions and interface and that they don't shy away from more mainstream tech simply to set themselves apart, especially when implementing that tech makes a lot of sense in a broader perspective (formats, online functionality, media functionality, storage, accounts etc).

Reported. Have a nice day!

And of course, the argument that Nintendo needs none of these features to stay relevant must be presented. Their relevance comes from their software output, but there's no reason Nintendo can miss out on the revenue streams opened up by newer gameplay opportunities

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Why the hell were all these things announced when i had finals O_o Hate this!

Fine I'll change the title, geez.
