Perth, australia is in a MASSIVE heat wave right now, hottest in 50 years so far, with no end in site.

Wednesday Very hot. Sunny. Min 24 Max 40
Thursday Very hot. Partly cloudy. Min 26 Max 41
Friday Very hot. Partly cloudy. Min 25 Max 39
Saturday Very hot. Sunny. Min 26 Max 42
Sunday Very hot. Windy morning. Min 24 Max 40
Monday Very hot. Sunny. Min 23 Max 40
Tuesday Very hot. Sunny. Min 26 Max 40

This is completely insane.

So answer the thread title.

Believe it or not but currently it's winter in the northern hemisphere. So definitely no heat wave at the moment, though during this winter there were only maybe 3 or 4 days of snow and the coldest period is almost over...
That is not a hell of a lot. Two years ago, Cologne (~300 kilometers from my place) had 82 days of snow. (Note: That was not the winter of 09/10 or 10/11, just the whole year 2010.)

OT: ~60°C while I was sleeping in a tent due to being drunk during a festival in mid-summer. (35°C+ that day)
I think the warmest day in my region in the last few years was 39°C.
Hottest period was when I was on vacation in Turkey for two weeks. 37-42°C each day.

Yeah so its been about 35 plus for and couple of days atm, but its just so weird that theres no sign of letting up.

I will be loving my work in a factory, its normally 5 degrees hotter than out side.

I believe it was 46 degrees (Celsius), while I was doing an internship on Tenerife. :p That was craziness!

36 degrees C - that was unbearable :( I don't understand how people can live in places where hotter than that isn't even a super-rare occurence

maybe because cold weather sucks!

And im from Melbourne, so we tend to get both cold, and raining, weather and stinking hot weather.

I guess i can remember 42/3 temps.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

48ºC when I visited Seville, south Spain. Absolute madness, the streets were empty.
