Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft comments on lack of new Xbox 360 exclusive IPs

PSN+ discounts games all the time...sometimes they go 100% free...like Arc the Lad that I'm playing right now, BttF episodes 1-5 and Sam And Max episodes 1-5.

PSN only games exist and Minis seem to be always conveniently overlooked sadly

Well Mini games are pretty much the Indy games of xbl and both are overlooked majority of the time.

Ever since MS first party grew bigger than Sonys first party, I have little to be concerned about on the first party front.

Plus the 360 had more exclusives in 2011 than PS3 and that was Sony trying hard. 2012 Sony has far fewer exclusives and Microsoft even more.

Just for Xbox this year i'm buying

Retail:

Fable: The Journey
Halo 4
Boom Boom Dance
Kinect Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure
Kinect Star Wars
Kinectalloons
Country Dance All Stars
Steel Battallion: Heavy Armour
Top Angler: Real Bass Fishing
Doodle Jump
Strictly Come Dancing
Phantom Breaker
Students of Round

XBLA

Dungeon Fighter Live Fall of Hendon Myre
Sine Mora
Alan Wake: American Nightmare
Deadlight
Dust
Fez
Bloodforge
Hybrid
Battleblock Theater
Wreckateer
Trials: Evolutions
Haunt
Diabolical Pitch
Project Draco

and The Witcher 2

I also bet we will hear from MGS Soho, Vancouver, Victoria, Family, MGS LEAP and MGS Platform Next games too. Not to mention that last year, 20+ 360 retail exclusives were announced and released in the same year. I bet the same happens this year too.

For PS3

Sly 4
Twisted Metal
Starhawk
Sorcery

Nope...its not embarrassing. The $60 retails are the games which are generationally used to sway the console wars are the ones who count and provide the face of a console. XBLA doesn't have to lose a year to PSN. PSN and XBLA are just additions with lower budget titles or old classics (thats all). They ARE pretty much even NOW, backlog or no backlog.

Respectfully, I starkly disagree. For one I don't remember any support for downloadable games in the pre-Wii-HD era.

Since the whole WIiware/XBLA/PSN program is a new phenomenon in the industry, it's time we recognize it.

Thirdly, if you fail to follow the times, what will you do when all software becomes DLable? Segregate by price? No way...

The metrics are quality and enjoyment. If a game is of high quality but provides little excitement, it still fails to satisfy the industry as you seem to advocate for.

I wish this site had a ignore user option.

That shouldn't be the case, there are some class games there.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

I remember the good old days when the argument was the ps3 has no gaemz and lists where used to prove this point time and time again...how times have changed.

And now lists are dismissed and we're talking in "real world" terms

Thats right. Good thing we can evolve over time our views and beliefs. Lets stick with one mentality forever.....cause thats worked well in human history lol.

But in all seriousness 360 has more quality games per year then PS3, once you include XBLA and PSN.

But then we get the budget racists and downloadable prejudice PS3 gamers that stick to their lists of retail exclusives they dont even buy.

Nice spin there. You still haven't listed the supposed great XBLA AAA exclusives though

Neither PSN or XBLA had a 90+ metacritic game in 2011. But XBLA beat PSN in 70-79 and 80-89 rated games, especially in the 80's category.

I dont have the list, but the results are there if your willing to do the homework. So I have nothing to hide despite my lack of list. XBLA beat PSN in 2011.

Most of those games are 360/PC and therefore not exclusive IPs, which this discussion is about

And theres the classic PS3 gamer retreat, ignoring that 360/pc titles are still not available on PS3. lol you can evolve beyond the simple parameters of this thread like everyone else and not turn a blind eye to one of 360s biggest advantages over PS3. You can close your eyes but doesnt make them go away.

No, your argument is a classic 360 fans argument. Trying to justify the lack of exclusives by including 360/PC games.

Thank you. Considering that it says we play everything while PS3 gamers shun everything that isnt exclusive.

Thats the biggest compliment one can get here :)

The PS3 owners who shun 360/PC exclusives are usually the ones that have PS3/ PC combos. Im just taking a shot in the dark here. Unless you're a Halo or Gears fan if you have a PS3/PC combo is there even a reason to own a 360? This is coming from a guy who has a PS3/ 360 and my only reason to keep my 360 is the Witcher 2 and possibly Halo.

Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia are two of my favorite games this gen.  That's really the only reason I'm keeping mine.  it gets much less play than my PS3 and Wii.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Good (mostly casual or indy) list but MS doesnt have a larger first party than Sony. Just saying. I will be playing some of those Indy titles on my 360. I would wait until E3 before project Draco is praised as well because it doesnt even have a proper name yet. The game Microsoft was banking could be "Kinect game for the core" got pushed back until next gen in Ryse, so they've already failed this gen to prove Kinect can be core. Fable is now a casual title and Kingdoms of Amalur will do what it never had the balls to do.

Wait...you mean to tell me that you believe XBLA and PSN are console sellers?

I loved those two games as well. I cant wait to get my hands on the Witcher 2 as well. Sucks I dont have a high powered PC.
