I'll stick with... weak and pathertic try at doing what you do at every opportunity. Microsoft are known for their excellent working conditions. Difficult to control a 3rd party sub contracted firm... and as others have said, they assemble things for many, many other companies, notably SONY and Nintendo. |
I remmember an article stating that Microsoft is a better place to work in than Google. So I back you up.
Yay!!!

it's all to make things cheap for us, we should be thankful

I think you've missed the point a little, they need money to live, they work to make money, they work to long, in too bad conditions. It's not a "choice".

Why not: make smash-proof windows that don't open; and prevent access to the roof. Except for the executives, who would be duty bound to commit suicide if they ever epicly failed to meet their KPIs. |
Because putting nets round a building is cheaper by a long way of course and is more a deterent than anything else. For all we know, it might just be a show to say they are taking the problem serious to the relevent concerned parties, international mediahr interests.
the only way to make Foxconn actualy care about their workes would be if companies refused to work with them, but let's be honest here - companies don't give a damn about people that won't make the news, but they give a damn about making things cheaper, because we (the consumers) want everything as cheap as possible without giving a damn about why things are this cheap

The thing is, it's only humans. If they would treat animals badly the media would be all over it, spearheaded by PETA and Greenpeace.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

or they can aim for the support beams. |
That would be stupid and painful, and you can't be sure you'd die from it.
The easiest thing to do would be for them to plug in one of their Xbox 360s for a few hours and take the whole factory down in a blaze of glory.

Nice try for what, exposing the misbelief for some who believe they are truly supporting the American economy and American workforce by buying an Xbox 360? No effort needed to tell the truth, thank you. Oh and yes, Foxconn makes stuff for Sony and Nintendo, but this is an Xbox 360 specific factory. Nice try by the way.
