I do want to say Sony cares more about the gamers from the other companies.. letting their big 3rd party exclusives like monster hunter, tekken, final fantasy, devil may cry etc just go on to appear on other platforms and doing absoluty nothing about it is a sign of a big heart..

Yup, Although Sony allowed those games to go to different platforms, they still allowed Playstation fans to play those games. So, Playstation gamers aren't missing out. Sony still cares about them.

Also, Sony only cares about their fans, they don't really care about Xbox gamers. First off, let me remind you that many former Playstation gamers moved on to the Xbox 360. Sony knew this and they still cared about their ex-fans on the Xbox 360. Once you buy from Sony, Sony will always care about you, even if you move on to different consoles.

That's why Sony allowed those 3rd party exclusives to go to the Xbox 360. They still cared about their ex-fans on that console, so they decided to still give them a plethora of great games.

Allow? lol!! Last I checked Sony didn't own Namco, Capcom or SquareEnix. Sony didn't allow anything. The reason those games were released on other platforms was because those companies saw an audience there and felt they could profit from it. These companies wanted a lot more money from Sony to keep them exclusive to the Playstation platform. Sony didn't have that kind of money after having 4 months of quarterly loses. Sony has enough in house exsclusives anyways, so I'm sure they didn't see it as a major problem.

Also, you contradicted yourself. You say that Sony doesn't care about XBox gamers. Then you said that Sony cares about gamers who left Playstation and became XBox gamers. lol!! What!?! Let me make it easy for you. Sony don't care about ANY gamers. They care about MONEY and PROFITS.

No, I didn't contradict myself. The Xbox gamers I referred to (DMC, FF players, etc.) aren't actual Xbox gamers. They are Playstation gamers because they are playing Playstation games, but on an Xbox. A gamer should be identified by his or her games, not his or her console.

And yes, Namco, Capcom, & Square Enix have to do what Sony says. If not, they will be left out when Playstation 4 domination begins. Sony gave them permission to release their games on the Xbox because Sony wanted to satisfy the Playstation gamers that game on Xbox.

And if you're wondering, Sony intentionally failed the Playstation 3. They could have sold over 200 million units and put Nintendo & Microsoft out of business. Just look at what they did to Sega. However, they decided to be in third place so they wouldn't be accused of leading a monopoly. Because of their failure this gen, Sony can and will dominate next generation without getting in trouble for starting a monopoly.

It's like how Michael Jordan dominated for so long, he decided to retire. Then he came back years later to dominate again. That is what Sony is doing. Don't try to argue with me because all my points are well founded.

If they are playing the games on the XBox 360 then they are XBox 360 gamers. Not saying they aren't PS3 gamers as well if they still play games on the PS3 too. They can be both. LMAO!! NO, NAMCO, CAPCOM and SQUAREENIX DOES NOT HAVE TO DO WHAT SONY SAYS. lol!! Those companies do what they want which is why games like Tekken 6, Ace Combat (was exclusives on 360), FF XIII, FF XI, DMC4, SFIV, Marvel -vs- Capcom 3, Lost Planet (exclusive on XBox 360) , etc.. all got released on the XBox 360 with no involvement from Sony at all. lol!! You serious have no clue how the gaming business is run, do you? I don't need to comment any more on your posts, as I can tell immediately that you are uneducated on the subject. Do some homework kid. I'll ignore the rest of your posts.

on a more serious note... playstation  is the only console maker that has blogs and Share (input from gamers) to get feedback from users and have several replies per day to users. that shows that they care.

*Rolls eyes*

I can't believe you're 31.

can you do some civic service, and point me where its the similar sites of MS and Nintendo that do the same as the sony ones?

and since you are in a civic service mode, explain me what did i say that shows that i might have a different age... all my opinions were explained and i did not disrespect anyone like you are doing it now.

Hey, alright man. It's okay. Sony cares for you. Sony cares for us all.

Not really. That only happened due to a huge shortage of XBox 360. There were no shortages of PS3. After the initial launch, because were actually returning them because they could sell them for a profit on EBay. That's a fact. Gamestop and Toys R. Us even had signs on their doors claiiming they had plenty of PS3 available for sale because they were overstocked. lol!! Sony also did a price cut on the PS3 just 6 months after launch. Another fact. It wasn't at $600 for long. Research is your friend. Nice one indeed. lol!!

Not so sure about the validity of your facts (no sources), and I KNOW those retailers wouldn't have signs saying "overstocked", it was 599 and 499 at launch, the first price drop came a year later in late 2007.

I'm not running around pulling up links again. I've done it so many times on this site and Gamespot.com. The links are out there though. They didn't have signs saying "Overstocked" They had signs saying, "PS3 Available Here". Here is one of the links just to prove I'm no liar.

http://kotaku.com/224386/some-scalpers-give-up-return-ps3s-to-stores

Yes the PS3 did sell out in it's initial launch, but right after the holidays were over, retailers couldn't sell them and many gamers who bought one to sell on EBay were returning them. That's why many retailers became overstocked.

Here's a blog with people discussing it in 2007. It's hard to find the links now, but I'm sure there is still a couple out there, with pictures.

http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=1091734

"Us even had signs on their doors claiiming they had plenty of PS3 available for sale because they were overstocked."

turns into

"They had signs saying, "PS3 Available Here""

---

Also, where are the 360 shortages?

360 sold approx the same number in dec 06 as dec 07, and only 1m difference by total yearly sales. 6.6m in all of 06, 7.6 in all of 07, and 07 introduced the arcade at 279$.

In 08, there was the 199$ Arcade price drop, bundled with lego indiana and some other shitty kid game:D, and the gears release. So let's see, lackluster sales in 06, and 07, with no more than 15% increase yoy, and then suddenly better sales at the lower price. That 08 december was DOUBLE the previous decembers, which was shortly after that price drop on arcade. I remember three of my nephews getting that bundle. So, what shortage? The one in 06? then why are 07's sales only marginally better? Are you talking about the shortage in 07? Then why did sales drastically increase after the major price drop and bundling? I also remember walmart giving away 100$ gift cards with the purchase of that arcade, and dell was giving them away like candy.

No, what really happened is that demand for 360 just wasn't that strong.

And I notice you didn't address my correction of your ps3 pricing facts. 499 and 599 at launch. It dropped Price to 399$ a year later with the 40GB, which brought it in line with the highest priced 360. I believe you're referring to the fact that ps3 wasn't even launched in Europe until 6 months after NA release, and then 6 months after that, there was a price drop. So not only was ps3's first christmas better than 360's, but it did so without an entire continent and more.

Hey, alright man. It's okay. Sony cares for you. Sony cares for us all.

I think what you're missing here is that this thread isn't about Sony caring in the aspect of "want to do what's best for the customer", but it's about caring that they do right by the customer. This could be phrased as "they care about having us as customers". They want our money, so they do as much as they can to making sure they get it.

The same really can't be said about MS or Ninty. MS used to charge 10$ to change a gamertag. 10 freakin' dollars! The excuse was to prevent people from abusing a free name change system. OK so then make it 99 cents! They charge for Live! They charged 100$ for proprietary hard drives. They charged 100$ for proprietary wifi dongle! Hey, hey, now, I know...it's good business, and maybe Sony would have done the same...should have done the same. Create expensive proprietary drives, proprietary wifi, with just built in ethernet. But they didn't. Why? Who knows. People would have bought the system regardless and bought the upgrades if they wanted them. Wifi and hard drives were not a selling point.

So, in terms of getting the customer a great well made product, Sony did right. Nintendo did as well for the first 3-4 years, then stopped caring. MS didn't really this entire time. For example, the red ring. Sure, they extended warranties and replaced consoles with refurbs, but it would take 1-2 weeks to get your thing fixed. PSN was offline for two weeks. You could still play single player. What did Sony do? Give everyone free games and several months of PSN+, which also has more free games. I'd say sony cares. Maybe not in a caring for my wellbeing way, but in a "we are very careful about keeping our customers happy".

MS seems to take more of the stance of, "our customers will be happy", and Sony, "let's make sure our customers are happy".

None of this is meant to troll or insult. This is just a, perhaps exaggerated, recount of the actual events that happened.

i don't want to make you change your mind... the only thing i want is explain why i do think so and i expect that my view of things can be
accepted for what it is... my opinion... i have my arguments and you have yours... i agree to disagree with you... its fine by me if you think MS does a better job than sony.

It seems to me that you are just looking for good things about Sony and bad things about MS because Sony is your preferred company.

If I played that game too, I could just say MS is better because they give alot to charities and they charge us a fee for Live because they want us to have the best possible online service. Or I could say Nintendo is better because when they dropped the 3DS' price they gave early adopters free games and they have the most reliable hardware.

Then I could say Sony is not as good because they are charging us for proprietary memory cards with Vita and they over-priced their product.

All 3 companies do things  to keep their customers happy so that they continue to buy their products.

People in here are just looking for good things about their company to convince themselves they are the best.

Fact is, all 3 do what they can to keep their fanbase and customers happy. None is better than the other. Alot of bias going on in here.

If you are being serious, then I'd tell you re-read my previous posts after you wake up from your fantasy land, buddy.

Wow. Just wow. Are you serious or are you being ironic?

1. "Playstation gamers... playing Playstation games, but on an Xbox". That is just plain assinine. For one thing, Capcom and Square have nothing to do with Sony and release games on many platforms. Final Fantasy started out on NES and stayed with Nintendo through the SNES. It was exclusive to the PSX, but while the main games were PS2 exclusive several FF side games were released on other platforms.

2. Sony doesn't want to satisfy Xbox gamers. They only want to make their own customers happy so they will buy Playstation games of which all send money back to Sony through license deals.

3. "Sony intentionally failed the Playstation 3" What's wrong with you? There was never any risk of a Sony monopoly. Sony made big mistakes and lost market share to Microsoft and Nintendo. Simple as that.

4. Sony could dominate next gen, but it's no more a possibility than Microsoft or Nintendo dominating. You should seriously consider giving up gaming for awhile and sort out your priorities. Or at the very least play games on other platforms just to get sense of perspective. You clearly have some kind of sick fixation about the Playstation brand.
