Dude, I expected the Wii you to sell like the gamecube, which was outperformed by both the PS2 and 360 and look where we are now. 

Honestly, and I cannot stress this enough, PERSONALLY I feel that Nintendo is gaining Apple like-status, people will buy whatever is thrown at them as long as it's branded nintendo. Anything is possible really.

Eh .. not really, it took a massive price cut to spur 3DS sales on, I don't see people scoffing at $500 ipads, the fact 360 is ahead of 3DS in the states all holiday is also an indication that isn't true.

Personally about the Wii U it really depends on when it releases this year. If they are going to give information on the console leading up to E3 instead of blowing it all at E3 and after, it means they may be going for a late summer early fall release for the console which could give it enough time to accumulate enough sales to take the year. But it is based on when it comes out, the price point (I don't think it will be too high (ala PS3)), and the games that come out for it. If they can pull off a launch with as few hitches as possible they could pull it off.

Also the NPD number from December seem to indicate, the current gen of console is more than likely going to decline from here on out.

But as I said it would have to be a near perfect launch.
