LOL i really like that idea. Especially the part where we send cookies to 343 to get Halo 4. :)
PS3 can't beat the X360 at this point they can only slowly take market share and try to be second place in sales (leaving wiiU in third). Second place is still a good place.
Aside from that they can pull a Halo or COD level franchise out of some magic hat but at this point I doubt it.

That makes sense.

@Bolded - PS3 23.2m Xbox360 19.6 m Sony fans act like the PS3 is dominating in Europe - why is that? 3.6m difference doesn't look like domination to me.

Let's see. 30 days free of charge to a strip club and 200 lbs of weed. That should win about 6 months.
Seriously though. Microsoft has done everything right to get the biggest gaming market in the world. Exclusive advertising of Call of Duty, Gears of War, Halo. American gamers just want to sit down and have fun.
Games like Just Dance wouldn't have gained the traction to be a megaton franchise had it not been for the Wii's price and the global economic crash. Granted that's just my opinion however.
Sony had the software, but they also had one of the most disastrous negative media bru-hahas ever. They focused on the basics this year. Anyway, Sony can't win America. Not now. It sucks because the PS3 is a great gaming machine, but Sony's leadership sucks (Howard Stringer and Jack Tretton).
EA and Sony have a strong relationship again, but Battlefield wasn't going to beat Call of Duty. At least not this year. Granted they have strong momentum to build on and they should. But instead of making gamers fight them they should just follow through on their promises when they make them.
I wish I was running Sony. Kick their asses into shape.
Nothing, because it can't. Though America is important, Sony still wins the "battle" by winning worldwide totals.

I don't think PS3 will ever outsell 360 in the US, not for one week, one month, and never over a year.
America sells based on marketing. The American public is so brain dead, they can't tell a shirt from a pizza unless it was marketed correctly. Thus lies the PS3's problem. Microsoft made the 360 cool. Teenagers think its cool, that trickled to the parents, and the ball has just kept rolling. Kudos to MS for the job they have done.
Microsoft has been around the block and they know how to play the game. Products do not sell themselves. Show the people that something is "cooler" or "more in" than any other product, and that's what counts. Most Americans will not look beyond advertising in there purchases. Same thing happens with every other product in this country from toothpicks to politics. The cheapest or best sold product wins most of the time.
Sony's only chance is to get the PS4 over as the "cool" product early in the next gen. Make sure Call of Duty is the in deal on there platform, whore out PSN to every end of the digital world, and team with other "in" products (Disney, Justin Bieber, Facebook, Alcohol, marijuana, Porn, Honda, ect.).
They are getting PSN rolling right now with the apps for every device under the sun. All it will take is the right flash and flare, and it has to happen soon. The market is killing of competition and if Sony doesn't right this ship soon, Samsung, Apple, and Microsoft, along with the slew of street rat products will kill anyone in between. Right now Sony's sitting right in the crosshairs.

Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. You are correct, 3.6m isn't a big number. But seeing as how the 360 is behind despite having a year head start and the ps3 having nO GaMez and being toO Expenzive...is a pretty good achievment.

lets say if sony would make a faulty system that breaks, they might get more sales because people will buy a new one. to top it off lets say they then fix that faulty system in a new slim version. that would then make more sales, and together with releases of new game bundles with it.
i think the real problem was the $600 price at start, and they were selling at a $200 lose even at that price. I'm impressed they pull through and I'm glad.
