I got bored, so I looked up some of my "predictions" from the start of the Year.

Needs a 13.7 Million unit Year.It sold 14.4 Million last year, and it needs to sell just over 12 Million more this Year. I think it can do that total, due to the exclusive games releasing this Year keeping the console looking fresh. The pricecut will determine if it does it easily or if it comes close though. $50 cut would mean it would be a close call, $100 cut would make it a certainty. It will be the lead console in both "EMEAA" and Japan. 60-62 Million by Years end. Call of Duty will be the best selling game of the Year. |
I probably overestimated the Wii by a few Million, thinking the pricecut would do more. At the rate it's going, it'll be lucky to hit 100M by late next Year.
I probably underestimated the 360 by a few 100k, after expecting there to be a pricecut. (Although I guess all the card deals in the US have given it a pricecut-like effect over the Holiday season)
My PS3 prediction looks to be nailed on so far.
Call of Duty is also going to be, obviously, the best selling game of the Year.
