It is meeting my excpectationss.
Tease.
Isn't this second week similiar to PSP though anyway? And 3DS is outselling DS now... I get that every analysist wants to say the smart phone market is gonna eat away the console market but thus far it always seem like they're grasping at straws to back it up with any reasonable evidence.
Vita's second week is pretty woeful but I don't think you can do anything to infer it's smart phones. The reality is it's done the same numbers as the PSP with the same price and lack of games - it's far more likely just one of those two factors (Probably both) that need to be addressed.
I think a common problem with these analysts from people like Forbes is they deal with so many industries where the common trend with hardware sales is if they start slow they simply can't be turned around. Obviously things are so much different in games where one piece of software or a small price cut can U-turn everything, and these analysts for the most part don't 'get' that. Maybe.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Come April, it's WiiU's turn.
The Kindle isn't anything special. I've already ready up on it and there are other options that are better overall. There are a lot of cons with the Kindle. Gotta do some research on it and overlook all the hype. I'm sure the Kindle will get better, but people need to wait another year or so for the new versions to be released. It's not worth getting at the moment.
As for the PSVita, it's too expensive for the Japanese market. Why do you think it took so long for them to embrace the PS3 and 3DS. They aren't going to spend $200+ for a handheld immediately. I think it's more expensive in Japan then in the U.S. I expect the U.S. & Europe versions will sell better. I'm not surprised with the sames of the Vita in Japan though. This is during the busiest time of the year. How many would have sold if it was released in the Spring?

Can't wait for that honestly. Damn WiiU hasn't had any information announced yet to be doomed enough.

Huh!? http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2011/12/29/digital-download-of-everybodys-golf-6-comes-with-online-pass/ "In fact, the PSN Store description and the game’s update page says this much – the online pass is NOT required if you buy the game digitally. In fact, if you actually buy the game online (as I did this morning) the PSN Store tells you that the online pass is already activated." |
Well I was gone for a couple days. I'm not sure where I read the article that was talking about the PSN content, but it was saying the digital purchases didn't come with the pass. Which made the price cheaper on the PStore. I'm glad that's not the case.
LOL.
If the Kindle Fire was above $200 it wouldn't sell. Its a cheap, garbage tablet running a highly propriety crappy branch of Android that can't even use the Android Market. If they priced it like the Galaxy Tab or iPad, they wouldn't sell any of them. Hardly "shaking up the industry." As for Vita, its young and selling in 1 market. Oh, and that also happens to be the smallest overall market.
Please Vita and 3DS, both sell 50 million + lifetime to get these stupid ass fools to STFU
The funny thig is that economy-centered sites like Economist and Forbes usually have some pretty smart people commenting on articles, but when it comes down to articles related to gaming, all you get is simplistic comments like "look how much it sold last quarter" or "cut the price". Get it over your emotions guys, these folks very likely know more than you about the subject and are going to be right more often than not, at least more than you, unless they are a bit mental like Pachter.
The PsVita may or may not be a success, as it may or may not be facing real competition from the likes of the Kindle, the iPhone etc. Chances are it'll fail, though, and the handheld market is indeed declining as a whole, unfortunately.
