its easily bethesda. best games the this gen are all bethesda games it seems.
bioware has the best story writers but thats it.
uncharted is over rated. but it looks good so w/e

why is blizzard always ranked high i swear they are mediocre. Naughty dog is getting up there but i ont think there number 1.

This is my opinion but Crash 3: Warped had a mediocre boss battle but was the best in the series, the same goes for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

because blizzard does about 4 games, and they do them really freakin well.
WoW is bar none the best theme park mmo out there
SC2 is the best modern RTS
Diablo 3 will probably be the best dungeon crawler in recent years.


mass effect sucks,  both of them do. its not that they are boring or anything, they are just OVER when u do the last mission and that takes about 2 days to get to... why spend $60 on a game that last 2 days then your done.. it makes no sense. a game should be a blast for weeks, then gradually get old

naughty dog made uncharted.
uncharted is over rated due to gameplay, instead its like playing a movie, but when u die, its replaying the same part. it has no replay value to anyone who has any sort of memory. also the platforming gets old 1/3 the way through the game.
crash bandicoot isn't amazing by any means either, did they make ratchet and clank? that was pretty good at least, again too short though

Fact.

My answer is no, ND is not the best western developer. They are one of the good ones, but if you look past the eye candy cinematics, everything thing is between ''average'' and ''good''. They make great wannabe movies, but when it come to gameplay wich is what videoGAMES are all about, they fall short compared to other developers. Uncharted is an overated interactive movies, its linear, UC3 was extremely short, but it is still a good game.

I like to compare ND with michael bay, just because Transformers with its awsome explosions and non stop action attracts more ppl than Inception, it doesnt make him better than C.Nolan.

IMO, in no particular order, Blizzard, Retro Studio, Rockstar, Rocksteady, Bethesda, Bioware, Valve are all way better. These are the ones that are popping into my head right now, i'm probably forgetting a few.

ND are barely game developers ..... they lose by default

for me, no... one reason is that as much as i like uncharted games they aren't good enough "games" for me. uncharted looks fantastic, has fantastic soundtracks and is very imposant but it's too much scripted and too less/easy gameplay for me to be the best game developer. with "easy" i don't mean playing on crushing with harder enemies, i mean easy climbing for example.

and i think the uncharted games are really made for everyone. more than mass effect 2 for example (like enrageorange meant as well), so everyone who is complaining about bioware going to much mass market with mass effect have to hate naughty dog and uncharted games because this is really not made for  "gamers" and what i understand under this description but nd is very good for popcorn style games.

i hope so much that "the last of us" won't be a game like uncharted just with another setting. if it will be like i hope the idea could be what i always wanted but i'm sceptical^^

Discounting the Left for Dead and Team Fortress games then I agree that they are good developers.
